OK, there's a few moving parts here so thanks in advance for trying to keep up and assisting.

My parents' 40th anniversary is next year and I'd like to take them and my family on a Disney cruise. I went for our 5th anniversary and it was great! I've looked at the points chart for the 4-night cruise for summer '05. We've already banked our basic 150 points this (use year March) year, and with those, plus next use year, plus calling forward from use year '06, it looks like I'll still have to rent 19 points from someone just to cover my family. We'd have to pay cash for my folks; I'm asking my sisters to help defray some of this.

So, how do I tie the points reservations (450) I'd make myself in with the 19 from somewhere else? Also, I'd like to get adjoining staterooms with my parents. How do we get this to work if I'm making our points reservations through DVC, and cash reservations through DCL?

I know some folks would say the easier thing to do would be rent out my points and make all cash reservations, but I don't want to risk not having anyone interested. Plus, would I only be able to rent the 150 points I've banked?

You could rent all 450 if that's what you want to do but if you don't want to I can't say that I blame you.

I think the easiest thing to do to get adjoinging (or connecting if you prefer) rooms is to pay a combo of points and cash for the people in both rooms. That way you can do it through MS and they can make sure your rooms adjoin or connect.

It sounds like you will have to rent those extra 19 points and have them transferred into your account. That is really the only way you could use them to book the cruise.

Thanks for the reply. I'm glad to know that renting the whole 450 points is an option if necessary.
I like the better option of splitting points/cash between the two rooms (connecting is what I meant), that way I only have to worry about booking through one agency--MS. Transfer of the 19 will be easier this way too.
