Cruise Photo Book

Has anyone purchased the photobook offered on the cruise? I usually do a Shutterfly vaca book, but then I have to pay Shutterfly AND for the digital pics. I'm wondering specifically:

Are the cruise books:
hardcover/softcover?
# of pages?
# of pictures included?
can you personalize the layout or are you just dropping the pics into pages?
can you use any of the images taken by the ship's photographers?
what about if you have a large party split out in 3 staterooms? any photo sharing?

I clicked around to try and figure this out myself but I could not find any descriptive information....which leads me to believe that I may not be satisfied with the flexibility of the design options...

From what I saw on the Wonder in 2015. I was predesigned drag and drop. I think it was 35 pictures and 20 pages but I may be really wrong. It was only pictures from your staterooms digital album. You could choose any of the pics from the ship photographers.

I was not happy, so I ordered that pics and prints in advance and came home with almost 400 prints and 2 CDs worth of pictures.

When we did our cruise in June, I went into it with the attitude of "I'm doing everything that I want, because this is probably going to be our only cruise." So I went ahead and got the book. It's the only thing that I regret. It's a fine photo book, but I always make a Shutterfly book that uses our own pictures. Since I also got a photo package, the Shutterfly book has them in it as well. The official book was a total waste.

I can't comment on the photobook offered on the cruise but I did make my own photobook on Shutterfly. Shutterfly offers Disney backgrounds and embellishments for an additional fee of $6 (If I recall). I opted to do that considering $6 is mere pennies to how much I spent total on a Disney cruise. The book came out great and like PP said, you can incorporate your own pics with the pics from the CD. Plus I like to cram as many pictures as possible on each page for a 20 page book to get the most out of my money.
