Cruise Parking Lot Vs Hotel Lots

I'm confused about where we should park for our 4 day cruise in December. I read that Disney charges $10 a day and hotels have rates available that include an overnite stay, parking and shuttle to and from the port. For example Radisson has a "cruise" rate of $109 , but they also have a "fall" rate of $79. The fall rate does not seem to have the parking and shuttle.

By the way how is the Radisson? Is there another hotel someone would recommend to stay at, the day before the cruise?

Are both areas secure? I need to know that when we get back from the cruise our car will be there. Anyone have any problems?

The trade-off of port vs. hotel is security. Although the Port Authority doesn't warrant the security of the port lots, you can feel reasonably confident of the security there. The lots have high, heavy fences, and the gates are closed when the Magic and Wonder aren't in port.

The Radisson has a gate with an arm that swings up... no fences. No security to speak of at the Hampton Inn or the Courtyard. If security is important to you, you may want to consider the $70 to park at the port for the week.

The Radisson's a nice, but not spectacular hotel. It does have a very nice pool/whirlpool area. It's not on the beach. And unless you get one of the $59 rates, IMO it's overpriced for hotels in the area and for a property not on the beach.

You can find my summary of area lodging at my web site...

...and I have a map that shows the location of these properties...

We booked the $59 rate at the Radisson (I actually called and they gave me that rate instead of doing it online). It was my understanding that all of their rates/rooms included the parking. I think that is what I asked and they confirmed it. I figured we're pulling in the day before so all we need is someplace to sleep til we board on Sunday!!! And, to take advantage of the parking/shuttle especially since the parking rates went up. It's like getting our hotel for $19!!! I want to be there early so my DH may take us first and take the car back and catch the shuttle back to the Port.
