Hi,
Have any fellow Canadians purchased travel insurance through "insuremytrip.com" Any thoughts?
Last time we used RBC however it was pretty pricey.

Thanks!

Can't say I have heard of them..I think RBC is still far superior and given what the trip costs, the policy is usually more than reasonable IMO.

We have purchased with RBC twice in the past, for land trips, do they do cruises as well??

I did RBC for my cruise and had a smal claim and it was great.

Insuremytrip is a search engine thingie... you don't purchase from them, they just find appropriate insurance for you and direct you to the online sales point of the insurer you choose.

I used it a few years ago to price out and compare insurance for a cruise. It worked well for that, once I figured out how to tell it to look for insurance options available to Canadian residents.

I ended up with RBC also. But I think I went for minimal insurance... trip interruption or disruption, not cancellation.

Good luck!

minnie56-For the RBC one, are you referring to the one that's a pamphlet that you prurchase in the branch, just wondering if it's the same procedure, I don't recall there being a cruise option online or on the pamphlet, I'd love to get a quote for a crusie and land trip...I found RBC to be reasonable compared to others...thanks in advance.

Did you purchase your Cruise through a TA? They can do a quote for you...if not..if it's the same as the TA site that I see..you basically select the Supplier of the trip (Cruiseline in this case) and the farthest away port that it visits. For example-St Martin would be SXM. It might be a little more user friendly in the RBC site for Clients tho? Not familiar with the brochure..

If you want-you can PM me with your birthdates and total trip costs and I will price it out for you to give you an idea.

We used RBC for our cruise. I believe RBC is the best value for the money. Insurance is not all the same. If a price is lower you need to verify what is covered and more importantly, what is not covered.

Thanks everyone for your comments/suggestions!

After reading the reply's....we'll stick with RBC.:)
