I am thinking about a cruise the first weekend in December. This would be my 2nd cruise and my MIL's 1st cruise. I am very concerned about the weather and seas during this time. I don't want to go with high seas. In August the seas were 1-3 ft., so it was very nice and smooth. I would be very nervous on bad seas. So, do the seas get rough during the winter and why? Or, is it normally normal and smooth sailing? If we don't go in Dec., then probably in late spring (before hurricane season), but I don't want to wait till then. How is the temp? We won't be doing much swimming, but would enjoy warm weather. My MIL is very nervous about the cruise due to a fear of water and she can't swim. I hope I am right in telling her that she won't even notice we are moving. What are your thoughts on cruising in Dec? Thanks in advance =

We did the 7-day Eastern cruise last December and the seas were very calm. I don't know if this is always the case, but I haven't heard of December having particularly rough seas.

As far as weather, it should be warm. If you are going on a 7-day cruise, the southern ports are warm/hot year-round. The only real possibility for cool weather (70's) is in the Bahamas. Occasionally, cold fronts reach the Bahamas but the weather should still be pleasant.
