Cruise Food?

On the 7-day Eastern on the Magic, we had lobster tail on Thursday, Semi-Formal night.

I think the lobster on Casatway Cay that they are referring to is the lobster burger. I think that's what it was. It was good! Otherwise, I don't think you'll see any lobster there. We didn't!

Lobster tails are offered in all restaurants on the ship on Thursday nights (Eastern, probably a different evening Western). It is offered ONLY in the adult Beach BBQ area on Castaway Cay. It's a grilled lobster tail. DH said it was delicious, I wasn't in the mood for lobster so had a burger instead.

and had lobster on Thursday night (Captains Gala) in the dining room and then grilled lobster tails at the Adults Only Buffet on Castaway Cay on Friday.

As far as I know lobster is not served on the 3 or 4 day cruise, but on the 7 day cruise it's in all restaurants on Thursday night.

Thanks to these boards I was aware that grilled lobster tails are also served on Castaway Cay at the adults only beach. When I tried to confirm this at Guest Services during my cruise they looked at me as if I had three heads!! They seemed to be unaware of it. Fortunately we did indeed enjoy grilled lobster tails for lunch on Friday.

My feeling is that they don't promote it since availability might be based on how many lobster tails are left from Thursday's dinner and wether or not caribbean lobster tails are in season.

I don't think lobster is on the menu on the 3 or 4 day, but just ask your server... you will be surprised what they can do for you. I remember when we checked in, the CM told us that if we didn't like anything on the menu, to tell the server to bring out lobster, steak, or chicken..

you never know until you ask!

Ok, I've used the search engine and can't find the answer -

Are lobster tails served on the dinner buffet on formal night? Just in case we don't feel like dressing up...we're thinking about hitting the casual buffet instead of showing up at our regular rotation under dressed. :)

We were on the 9/14 Western Magic cruise and I can tell you that there were no lobster tails at the adult beach. We had steak sandwiches, grilled salmon sandwiches, hot dogs and hamburgers. We had always gone to Cookies in the past just to eat lunch but decided to stay at the beach this year. The food was over cooked, there was a major congestion just getting the food and finding a place to sit. There was ice cream labled Peach but it was Cookies and Cream. This was the worst meal I have ever had at any Disney location. Go to Cookies and get a real meal.

with the previous poster that wasn't impressed with the food served on the adult beach at Castaway Cay. Maybe this person went to eat when it was the most crowded, I don't know...but my experience was completely the opposite!! We went early and there were very few people, we had no trouble finding a table in the shade to sit and eat. They had burgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken, a variety of salads, and loads of fresh fruit including mango (yum!). We thought it was great, no complaints at all!!

That was the time we and it seemed like everybody else went. I did have some potato salad.
