I will be leaving on my cruise on Sunday . I had booked the Atlantis Beach day excursion originally because the "Aquaventure" pass that allows you to use the pools and waterslides is 160 a person! The beach day was half that. However, since then I've been diagnosed with skin cancer. I'm nervous that there won't be enough shade at the beach for me and it seems like a waste. Do you think I should downgrade to the tour that just lets you walk around the grounds and aquarium (which is around $50pp), but will I be missing out? Is there shade at the beach? Should I keep the Beach Day? Or should I shell out the $160pp for the Aquaventure that would allow me to use the pools (though my 2 year old can't use any of the slides)? So confused and running out of time. :confused3 Can anyone who has been there help?!!!

I did not see any shade on the beach. I don't know if it is to late for you to cancel. It is only $4 for a taxi to Atlantis. The grounds pass in January was $30.00 was or $35.00 at Atlantis. The all access pass was $110.00 at Atlantis. They have very small sides that maybe you and your 2 year old can slide down together. They have a very cool kids are too.
Here are a few pictures.

What a crummy time to get diagnosed...I've had 2 Moeh's (sp) surgeries on my head - so I wear a hat - it might be harder if it's someplace else on your body. Darn those "good old days" of sunbathing....
