We are sailing on the Wonder this Friday, and I wanted to see if anyone knows who the Cruise Director should be? I know Clayton has been on the Wonder, but I didn't know if he got off after the Panama Canal cruise, or if he was still on board. Has anyone here been on board the Wonder out of Galveston this year? I know there has only been 1 completed cruise out of Galveston since the PC cruise, but just wanted to see if anyone knew if it was still Clayton or if it was someone else. Thanks!

We had one cruise end last Friday...wish they would post more so we have more information available :)

We had Peter on the cruise just prior to the Panama Canal.

Peter is still on the ship

Thanks for the information. How was Peter? I haven't heard him really mentioned before. I know a lot of people say that the cruise director doesn't really matter, but since we seem to go to most of the shows, I think their energy can affect the energy of the entertainment. How was he in terms of energy?

I would rate him a 7 out of 10, 10 being best for energy level. He has been a cruise director for many years. His catch phrase for the evening entertainment is "How's everybody doinnnnnnnnn?" He doesn't add a lot to the entertainment, just information mainly.

Justacruiser, did you take the PC cruise? If so how was it? We took advantage of the military discount on the Thanksgiving cruise on the Wonder, not as crazy of a deal as we got on the Fantasy in May (that one was $100 a night for a balcony) but this one worked for school schedules so we took it. We are excited to try the smaller classic ships.

I got off the Wonder on Friday and it was Peter. I have had Peter, Jimmy and Christian and of the 3 Peter is my favorite. I will be happy to answer any other questions you may have.

We did Panama Cruise with Peter. I have to agree with Justacruiser. Only I would rate him a 5. We went to all 8 of his morning shows and he was just plain boring. Would only give information. His big thing was the 'top ten list'. And it wasn't even funny. It took him about 3 shows to finally decide to do trivia questions and give out prizes. The only time the show was lively was when Jugo the hotel director happened to show up. He didn't banter with Capt. Fabian like Jimmie has done in the past. It was Capt. Fabian & Jugo in the cookoff. I will give him props for doing an Elvis impersonation in the crew talent show. He gave one lecture on the history of cruising which was really a lecture about his career. I learned that he has been a cruise director with all the major lines starting in the 70's. He came to Disney around 5-7 years ago. Which does mean he is kind of older.
My opinion is that the cruise director doesn't really matter on the shorter cruises. But on the longer cruises when you do need more entertainment, it definitely helps to have an energetic cruise director on board.

I think Jimmy is my favorite CD on the Wonder that we've had. I like Brent too, but not sure if he works the Wonder… Clayton was good on the Hawaii cruise in September. Very personable.

We've had Brent , Christian , Jimmie , and Peter. I can't recall last year's CDs, but I think Christian may have been one of them.

I loved Brent, sadly, he's moved from DCL and is now heading entertainment at DCA (since August). Next I like Jimmie, he was very friendly every time we talked to him. Christian and Peter are OK, Christian is more energetic, but Peter seems more laid back.

My current favorite is Natalie. First met her on the Wonder two years ago, and she is currently on the Magic. Friendly and personable with just enough energy.

Do you know if they were planning to continue the Freezing the Night Away event on the upcoming cruises? It is interesting that they had both the Freezing the Night Away and Pirate night as well!

I believe the Freezing the Night Away event is only on the Alaskan and Northern European cruises. It replaces Pirate night.

We didn't have Freezing on our Oct Wonder cruise.
