Cruelcard

Is there anything hinting that it is someone from the DIS? It could be from someone in real life considering you would need to know the email address?

Yes, the gum mess has referenced the DIS and knows where the receiver frequents.

§707-716 Terroristic threatening in the first degree. (1) A person commits the offense of terroristic threatening in the first degree if the person commits terroristic threatening:

(a) By threatening another person on more than one occasion for the same or a similar purpose;

(b) By threats made in a common scheme against different persons;

(c) Against a public servant arising out of the performance of the public servant's official duties. For the purposes of this paragraph, "public servant" includes but is not limited to an educational worker. "Educational worker" has the same meaning as defined in section 707-711; or

(d) With the use of a dangerous instrument.

(2) Terroristic threatening in the first degree is a class C felony. [L 1979, c 184, pt of §1(2); am L 1989, c 131, §1; gen ch 1992; am L 2006, c 230, §31]

I did make one mistake it is a class C felony not a class D. My bad!

I don't see how any of those statutes apply to this scenario. An email is not a dangerous weapon, it is only one person not different people, I am assuming the recipient is not a public servant (although I could be wrong on this one) and I can't see a definitive purpose to the email.

So why not just post what cards were sent and what the threatening message on the second was? Or just out the person who sent it.

It's anonymous of course. Gum mess has no name. Personally, I don't have the cards........that'd be up to the receiver to do. Who, btw, did not post this thread.

Back to the wonderful world of second grade for me. Where so far no one has wished such dire things on anyone else this year. :wave:

Yes e-mails are considered terroristic threatening if it implies dangerous intent. Which the first one did not but the second one did and also had a reference to the first one in the message on the second.
In fact there was a case of such in my home town where a teen e-mailed another teen and was arrested and charged plea bargianed down to the lesser misdomeaner and found guilty. Even though it was plea bargained down the judge still imposed a heavy sentance on the teen.

That is what I think. It would have to be someone you know and have exchanged emails with.

I do think some of the cards on that site are kind of funny, but they are mean. Sorry your friend is receiving them.

I sent myself one just now to see how they come through - it is an email with a link to go to the card. Just a word of caution too, if you get an email from someone you don't know, you shouldn't click on links in it. You never know what kind of site you are really going to, and it could be one that downloads spyware/malware to your computer. I've gotten spam before telling me I have an e card from some name I don't recognize, I just delete it because I am afraid it is not really a card.

In your situation, I think we can understand why you found it funny. :hug:

Brandie

So you understand that I needed the laugh :goodvibes .:goodvibes

and LMAO@ flitter nugget. I actually had the vision of a housefly in the shape of a chicken McNugget.......gross.

The definition I saw was more disgusting than a flying chicken snack.

:eek:

Well you know, you really need to pity the coward. The coward only knows how to act like a coward. Cowards like to strike out and then run like a dog with it's tail between it's legs. Then laugh but don't have anyone to laugh with because who's going to admit being a coward?

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Someone who would sad a card like that is pathetic and sad.

I believe in the expression 'What goes around, comes around.' They'll get theirs one day. Heck, who knows, maybe what they wished for in that card will come around and bite them on their butt. Wouldn't that be ironic in a satisfying kind of way? :teeth:
