CRT- Yes or No

How is the food at CRT? We are back and forth about booking it for our next trip?
Our reasons to do it:
1. We have a DD5(will be 6 by the trip) who loves princesses
2. I ate in the castle as a kid and that is one of the few memories I have of my first trip to WDW
3. My number two probably already sold this for me, but I'll go on

Our reasons to skip it:
1.Is it worth 2 SD on dining plan?
2.Or pay out of pocket when were already on meal plan
3.Have been to princess breakfast in norway and loved it.

Thank you for any thoughts. And just one more question, What meal do you like the best at the castle(B,L,D)?

go for the experience, not the food. dinner is not a princess meal (it's hosted by the FGM with Suzy & Perla)

I agree, this one is definitely for the experience- not the food (even though dh loves the french toast at breakfast). If DD6 loves princesses, this is a must at least once. We did the Norway breakfast too and liked it, but nothing beats eating in the castle and dd7 agrees- eating in the castle is the best. We are plannning a trip for Jan. and that is the first thing she asked- will Cinderella invite us to eat in the castle. She hasn't even asked about the Norway breakfast. If she's never been- do it! She will be in heaven. Not sure about the 2ts or paying out of pocket- we've never done the dining plan.
A suggestion- we like getting the first seating 8:05 or so, so we can get in the park before it opens- that also is a very cool experience. Plus, once you are through with breakfast, you will be up front for the rope drop of Fantasyland. And no, dinner is not all the characters- just Cindy and the mice I think. Breakfast and lunch are Cindy downstairs for pictures and usually 4 princesses upstairs rotating tables. This is a magical experience that we are planning to do at least one more time before she gets too old and doesn't believe in the 'magic' anymore.

Your DD is the perfect age for it. Remember that she'll outgrow the princess thing, and soon she won't care about dining there. At 6, she'll love it, even if the food isn't so great.

We're doing breakfast and paying OOP because I ran the numbers, and it's just not a good value to use two TS credits for it.

Our dinner at CRT was an absolutely magical experience! I will be honest-the food is nothing to write home about. We've been to lunch in the new pricing scheme, and while it was certainly a "splurge", we really enjoyed ourselves.

If you have "extra" TSes you want to try, don't use 2 credits. For out of pocket, I think lunch is a better value; it's only a few dollars more, but the major domo's pie is pretty good. Breakfast is just, well, breakfast.

Go while your dd will still enjoy it. We went 2x when dd was younger and now at age 8 she doesn't want ANYTHING to do with the princesses!

Plu, it's just real cool to be *in* the castle!

At Dinner, Cinderella is only in the lobby for taking pictures (for the photo package that is included) Yet she spent a nice amount of time talking and whispering with my DGD5.

Go Your DD and you will love it! You said it was one of your memeroies as a child. That says it all to me.
We did both CRT and Norway lunches in November. My girls were 4 &6. I loved them both. We ended up paying out of pocket for the CRT lunch. My girls were so happy to say they ate in there. Enjoy

I really enjoyed it. The atmosphere, food, service and free pics were all very nice. There were no characters at dinner, but you do get a small show from the fairy godmother and mice. They don't do meet and greets at the tables. You get to meet Cinderella in the lobby for the free pics which are brought to your table. Boys get a sword and girls get wands as souvenirs. I requested a window table and we got to see fantasyland. I'd go again.

Armed with all the info you provided I hit my DH up about CRT after work; he agreed and thinks we should pay OOP,which I gladly agreed-that's one extra sit-down .Now my last hurdle, getting that reservation. Thanks again everyone.

We did the breakfast at CRT for my then 4 year old daughter. She loved being in the castle and seeing the princesses (It was the only place we found Sleeping Beauty our entire trip). DEFINITELY do NOT go for the food. The eggs were runny, the muffins were cold and hard, and we left there still hungry. That said, we bought the picture package they give you of your picture with Cinderella. That was worth it. The presentation of the picture was just gorgeous. I definitely don't think I'd ever spend the money to do it again. In fact, this trip coming up, we're doing the Princess breakfast in Epcot for the first time. Really looking forward to it. I just hope the food is better.

We're doing it for lunch on April 29th. We are on DDP but are going OOP. It really isn't much more than any other character meal for lunch or dinner. So we just couldn't justify loosing an extra TS credit. So we are OOP and doing lunch instead of dinner. We were able to add Sci Fi and 50's Primetime for additional experiences. (Note I said experiences as we are not going to get ourselves setup for a possibe bad food experience at either place ). Have a great trip!
