while we are still debating where to eat in Dec, I had another thought. Do many people do CRT without kids? My husband has always thought it would be neat to eat in the castle, so I thought well maybe we should try to book it for our Dec trip? Do you think we would enjoy it? If so, I was thinking about dinner there.

We did CRT with myself and sis. Breakfast seemed ok, pricey for 2 adults. The character's where polite but spent way more time at the other tables. Our waiter, also spent way more time at the other tables.:confused3 We have also done dinner and lunch, there are definately more adults at the later meals. The castle is beautiful and definately worth doing once, at least.

As for the character's these meals are very packed / sold out's. So expect a quick turn over, and you won't be dissappointed. I thought CRT actually spent more time than crystal palace's tigger.:confused3

happy planning, mky:cutie:

Do it! It is the castle! My Fiancee took me there for my birthday last December...and it was just the 2 of us. In WDW you don't have to think of any place as "a place to go if you have kids only!"...then most of us wouldn't be going to many places!

I saw GO GO GO!

Did CRT 2 weeks ago for breakfast. While I had my kids with me for 8:15 ressie I certainly saw alot of tables without children.
It was o'kay. Did it, won't do it again.
With the fixed, traditional breakfast it just wasn't worth the money for me.
I much prefer CP.

I agree - do it once. DH & I thought it was beautiful inside & it was magical - but it was basic breakfast fare (we would've tried a later meal but those menu's looked too fancy for my plain-jane taste). It's a great idea to do with kids, because then I think it's worth the price with the photo package. DH & I just don't need all those pics with Cinderella. If they lower the price and/or offer different photo options we might do it again. But I still say - try it - at least once!

My opinion is that if you want to eat in the castle, go for it. I would not expect anything outstanding in the way of food, though. You're paying for the atmosphere. And the photo package appears to be mandatory - you pay for it whether you want pics with Cinderella or not. I have not heard of anyone removing the photo package.

DH and I ate there on our honeymoon, but that was in 1997 and it wasn't a character meal at the time, but since I wanted to eat in the castle, we had lunch there. I don't remember feeling out of place at all, like we were the only adults there. Who cares anyway, it Disney :cheer2: Have fun :thumbsup2

DH and I (in our 50's) dined there and while it certainly isn't the best food on property, I thought the experience of dining in the castle was worth it. Did I feel out of place? Not one bit. Actually, I think it's better to be childless because then you can watch the fun of all of those little princesses who know the magic is real. If that doesn't make you love Disney, nothing will.

how much is the photo package? and if you are on the dining plan how do they add it to your bill if you don't want it?

I have no actual experience... but the photo package is part of the price. I don't believe they CAN remove it if you don't want it. I've never seen on the boards that anybody actually had it removed.

My understand was it was included in the cost of the meal. It only costs extra if you want to buy more pictures than is included in the package. If you are on the dining plan this is a 2TS. Here is what allears has to say about it

Cinderella's Royal Table Breakfast
is a Disney Princess-themed character meal.
When you arrive at Cinderella Castle for your reservation,
a photographer will be on hand to take pictures of your group in the lobby,
before you are seated in the dining room.
A package with four 4x6 prints and one 6x8 print of your photo,
as well as one 6x8 print of Cinderella Castle,
in a Cinderella photo holder (valued at $29.95 plus tax)
will be delivered to you during your meal,
which will be from a fixed-price, set menu.
(One photo package per party of 1-4;
two photo packages for parties of 5-8, etc.)

Additional photos may be purchased.

This is a Signature Dining Experience
which takes two Table Service credits when using the
Magic Your Way Dining Plan.

The picture was worth in IMO, plus the WONDERFUL picture of the castle in 'reflection' mode. My wife and I enjoyed it a lot, for breakfast, BUT, it was for the atmosphere that we loved it, NOT the food. The food was middle of the road for breakfast. Not bad, just dont go in expecting a 5 star 'food experience'.

if the pictures are included then it's really not a bad price...when we did the Hoop Dee Doo the pictures were extra in addition to the cost of dinner

Here is the link to the CRT DIS Menu

My DH and I had lunch at CRT once years ago before it became a 'package'

While we enjoyed it, we will not go back. I think the price is extremely high for what you get. It would be nice if ONE of the meals was not a photo package meal

At least with HDDR you have a dinner show
