DD will be 2 1/2 when we go to Disney. How does CRT handle food for a child who's not yet 3 yrs old? I assume that they still need to just share with the adults and don't get anything on their own unless we pay the ful price for them, right? Or is there anyway to just order a side of fruit or fries for them??

THANKS!

some pasta wth butter or something similar out for the younger kids.

We took our daughter just after she turned three and she wasn't really into eating at the meal. She was so fascinated at seeing the different characters. Aurora was there and she had her pink gown on. Snow White was there and my daughter kept turning around to watch her instead of eating. Poor Belle. My daughter didn't recognize her when she came to the table. Belle was still gracious and spoke with her.

Were you there at lunch or dinner? If I'm correct, you only see the "extra" princesses at bkfst and lunch right? (Not dinner..?)

Pasta with butter would be perfect if they offeret it to her. And, I'm sure my 3 yr old would share but most times they don't like the same stuff to eat. :confused3

THANKS!

We were there for dinner. My DD2 was brought out pasta w/ butter sauce and a little sundae w/ Mickey sprinkles and a chocolate crown - for free! Also, she was enjoying the fruit I had brought her, and we even asked if they extra grapes and they brought some out for her too. I was very pleased at how well they treated her. :goodvibes Oh, she also got the Cinderella wand. :wizard:

We went for breakfast and they brought out the kids french toast platter for our under 3.

Did you have to ask for the pasta or did they just bring it out to you automatically?

lunch. You are correct that the princess and/or leading ladies are there for breakfast and lunch. The Fairy Godmother and Suzie and Perla put on a small show at dinner.

A lot of people like an early breakfast ADR before the park opens. Those are usually harder to get. We're more lunch people so I'm trying for a 12:00 ADR tomorow morning.

. . . How does CRT handle food for a child who's not yet 3 yrs old? . . .

1) Non-Buffet, Non-All-You-Can-Eat
. . . kids actually do not eat free
. . . however, they can eat off the adult's plate without charge
. . . they are charged for everything they order individually
2) Buffets, All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE)
. . . under-3 eat free
. . . they are not charged for food
. . . they do not have to eat from any special menu
. . . they "officially" can eat from parent's plate
. . . but, at a buffet/AYCE, no one can tell which is a parent's plate
. . . thus, they can have their own plates

Although I'm sure that is the official policy that isn't how it worked for us. DS was only 2 when we went for breakfast and I made certain when we were seated that the waitress knew that he was NOT on the dining plan and would be sharing. She was great and said "Oh that doesn't matter." When they brought the food out, he had his very own plate. Also, they gave him the sword that they give to the other little boys. From what I've read here on the boards, this is fairly standard practice for CRT. Now, of course nothing is set in stone and they may start following the official policy at any time. Just be up front and ask when you get there.

1) The policy was followed properly.
2) CRT is an All-You-Can-Eat restaurant.
3) Thus, a 2-yr-old can eat anything, and off his own plate.

Thanks for clarifying that. I don't know if most people(myself included) knew that CRT was considered an AYCE.:thumbsup2

I'm well aware of what the official rules are. :thumbsup2 But it's nice knowing that they often go out of their way to make the wee-ones happy since they typically wouldn't like the offerings that the adults get. Of course this should never be expected but it's nice to hear that often times the CM will do what they can to make sure the toddlers enjoy their own food. :cutie:
