Has anybody with food allergies eaten at CRT? The only reviews I've read about it say that they don't have many options because it's preplated meals. For our upcoming trip we're considering lunch there, but I want to be sure that my daughter will have some options for food. She can't eat gluten, milk, yeast, citrus, eggs or peanuts.

Thanks!!

I've only heard of one bad report at eating with food allergies at WDW and that was at Wolfgang Puck. We've been to Disney with our son who has Celiac Disease and had wonderful experiences eating at counter service places and last summer at Donald's Safari Breakfast. When you call to book just tell them of your daughter's allergies. When we got to DSB and at our meal at the Sci-Fi Dine-In the Chef came out and talked to us about our son's allergies and let us know what was available for him to eat. At counter service places they had notebooks that we could look at to see what was safe for DS to eat.

Thank you GrumpyMom25 for responding.

I'm familiar with WDW's amazing handling of food allergies which is why we continue to return. We've just never done any of the signature restaurants before and we'd like to try a few during our December trip. The only reviews I've read of CRT though aren't so favorable regarding food allergies but the reviews I've read aren't recent. This is why I'm really hoping to hear about people's experiences there. My kids and DH would love to eat at the castle, but only if food won't be an issue.

Next time you go, do some research ahead of time regarding what foods are available at what CS locations. No way would I want to start going through an allergy book while my family is waiting. I have a list by park of what safe foods are available at what CS locations around the park so all we have to do is get in line, ask for the manager and order. It saves so much time as well as stress. Can you tell I'm a obsessive planner and list maker? LOL

My dd has food allergies to milk, egg, wheat, peanuts, and tree nuts. We have done CRT twice...but for breakfast. I can't speak for how many choices that you'd get for lunch but the breakfast was not a problem. I felt she was safe and the chef did visit our table. Her breakfast was not anything labor intensive from CRT. (Our favorite was Mickey shaped waffles made special for her at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort). I think at CRT they just brought her fruit and sausage/bacon with one of those Van's Wheat free toaster waffles. She didn't care...it was all about the princesses.

Good luck!

I have a DD with a dairy allergy(and a DS with shellfish/fish) and we have done CRT several times. Breakfast was preferable for us but have done lunch there too. For breakfast they made her a dairy free waffle, bacon, eggs, and fruit. She loved it. But since you have many more allergies, you might want to call to see what would be offered. Lunch she had fewer choices. I think she ate corn, rice pilaf type thing, and plain chicken I think. Good luck! I think your princess deserves a good meal in the castle!

Thank you both for responding.

She's gotten to where she doesn't want to go to restaurants for breakfasts any more since she gets the same things at every restaurant even at WDW (waffles, bacon, fruit and she can no longer have the eggs she used to have since we only recently figured out eggs; outside WDW there isn't anything for her so we don't go out for breakfast) so this upcoming trip we're going to have quick breakfasts in our room (I'm packing cereal and powdered Dari Free milk as it travels easily). I know she likes Van's waffles as that's what she gets at home, but I think she'd still get frustrated with just that, fruit and bacon yet again.

She's recently started LOVING chicken legs (she'll eat plain meat, but it isn't her favourite) and loves corn and rice so we should be able to at least do the lunch. I'm going to take another look over the menu to see what's normally on there as well. She'll probably love the prime rib at dinner but I understand there aren't many characters at dinner? I'll definitely ask Brenda to have a chef from there call me when we get closer to our date, assuming I end up booking it (which knowing me I likely will). I'll likely end up emailing Brenda a bit before my 90 day mark to find out just what is available at lunch and dinner.

What kind of allergy safe dessert did they have? Was there any soy milk to drink?
