I have it booked for the end of May, but the menu isn't much to be excited about. Am I just paying to be in the castle? 2 credits.. hmmm... My DH is SUCH A PICKY EATER!!
1) Yep. Yep. Yep.
2) The food has been mediocre once it changed from King Stephan's. *
3) The draw is the Castle and the Princesses.
4) There is no need to offer GREAT food, and I doubt it will be changed.
5) No character meal has stellar food.
6) Good, solid, comfortable - but average. 7) Let's face it, what can you do to eggs & sausage to justify $45 per person ???
* King Stephan's used to actually have food that was well received by the local food critics. Once changed to CRT, the quality dropped - many of us personally believe due of the amount of princesses and the high labor costs. Once DDP came in, the quality leveled off completely. It is a shame, but facts-are-facts.
The lunch menu finally changed after at least four years.
I'll disagree with RS somewhat. You are mainly paying for the characters and the setting, but I do enjoy my food. I would probably pay only a portion of the cost though while not at Disney (or any other park or sporting event, etc.)
Thanks for the responses! I had to tell my 6 year old girl, and she is beyond excited. So its a must now.. b/c I couldn't keep the secret. We are used to the QSDP. Its so much easier!
We loved CRT. We went on 11/18 for dinner. The four of us (kids 4 and 7, DH and myself) all got the tenderloin roast.
The atmosphere is beautiful, the princesses were great, the picture(s) that come with the package are adorable and the food was good.
We were on the free ddp so I'm not sure I would feel the same if I payed oo[ but I think it's a good use of the 2ts credits...at least it was for us.
I feel like we wasted a TS credit at Akershus.
