A friend of mine is going to wdw in two weeks for a last minute trip accompanying her dh for work.
She said this morning that she was going to book at CRT. I told her she most likely wouldnt get in. She dismissed me and said we arent going at a busy time. (uneducated disney visitors lol)

Anyways I looked for her and nothing. what are the chances something will come up? what would u recommend for her to do?

Well, she can certainly try CRT- it has become easier lately, but I would still say the odds are against it.

She may want to try Akershus if she's set on having a princess meal.

It's never easy to get a walk up but it isn't impossible. From my experience as a cast member at CRT, Sunday mornings for breakfast were when we were able to get the most walk-ins. Hope this helps! :goodvibes

Keeping trying online - and ask at guest services once there you never know :goodvibes

I suppose nothing ventured nothing gained. At least it's just a single adult who might be disappointed and not an excited little girl. Seems to me, with the new cc regulations and cancellation penalties, that there would be a lot fewer no-shows. But you never know..

I would say to keep searching online, several times a day. If you have the dining plan, you can link the CRT reservation to the plan, so you don't have to pay in advance BUT if you are a no-show, you will get charged the full price that would have been pre-paid otherwise. So during the final weeks/days before a trip, some cancellations do pop up, but you have to be diligent about searching online. I wanted to switch the time of my reservation for this Friday, so I was online searching every day, and just 2 days ago saw a couple things open up for my trip. The openings I did see were snapped up pretty quickly, so I will just say again that you have to be diligent! But this strategy worked for me on this trip and the one last April where I was trying to shuffle some things around.

No it isn't. It is for her, DH and three kids who she already told they would eat in the castle. I am surprised how much people don't know about disney and how busy it is.
I kept checking for her today and will keep checking. They aren't staying onsite so no dining plan. I think she honestly thought she would just walk up and get in.

the Disney Dining app if you have an I-Phone or droid and you can check availablility almost instantaneously.

It works pretty good and is accurate!

While the odds aren't great, it isn't impossible! It all depends on the number of "no shows" or cancellations for that time but with the $10/per person fee now charged when a party doesn't show for a reservation I have a feeling that number is going to go down.

Best bet would be to encourage your friend to keep checking both online and via telephone. Sometimes there's a little extra pixie dust in the air! pixiedust:

thanks. I think no shows would be rare at
crt as u pay in advance. will download the app and hope i can help her

I know its not the same thing last May we got a last minute ressie to the Spirit of Aloha and we ended up with front row.. It does happen! good luck..
