CRT table for 4 but show up with 5

My mom decided that she wants to come with us on our trip and we are 60 days out. I have managed to change all but CRT with minor time changes. What will happen if we show up at 8:00 am for our ADR for 4 with 5 people. Will we still get a table? I am ok with having to wait, but his was my one thing I really wanted to do for the trip and would hate to cancel. PLEASE no flames. Thanks.

This happened to us twice and they were more then happy to set up another place. What's the worse that can happen turn you away or keep calling and see if there are any cancellations. Good Luck!

We had a reservation for 8 at the California Grill, and showed up with 10. My parents decided to come along at the last minute. Fortunately they were able to seat us all together after a short wait. But my parents were fully prepared to eat elsewhere if they were unable to accomodate us.

I would try and hope for the best, but be prepared that your mom may not get to eat with you. CRT is THE hardest to get ADR, not to mention that you are supposed to pay for it ahead of time. Which makes it a little different than just walking into any other restaurant. Plus, they will have to switch you to a different table size, which means you will have to wait for it, if they can seat everyone. I wish you luck!

Basically you would have to hope for either a cancellation or no-show of a party of five or six.

The tables at CRT are designed only for an even number of people.

Due to the size, and the requirement that there be sufficient room between the tables for the wait staff and Characters to walk, they will not attempt to make a four-top into a five by adding a chair at the end.

You might hold a lottery to determine who does not attend; that way you can be sure that 80% of your party gets seated.

Yes, CRT is different in the way Chesire Figment described. It can't hurt to show up, I would go really early to explain your situation and see what they can do. And I agree, decide ahead of time who will skip this one, but for sure I'd make sure you get to go. I am sure your mom or maybe your dh would be fine with skipping so you get to enjoy something you are really looking forward to.
