We have gone to CRT several times for dinner and we have always had to guarantee the reservation with a credit card-but the card was not charged. We are going in April and there will be 10 of us. I have been reading on the boards that now they charge the card at booking-THAT'S A LOT OF MONEY TO TIE UP- I booked the deluxe dining plan so that we could enjoy some two credit meals together but I didn't realize that I would be charged up front-again I was going to make about five two credit dinners-now I will have to rethink my plan. Is it possible that I heard wrong and that they are only making you give your credit card number in case you're a no show???

If you are booked on the deluxe dining plan and connect your WDW reservation to your CRT reservation, you should not be charged. Otherwise you will be. I don't know how that will work for a large party with multiple WDW reservation numbers. You could call ahead of time to find out.

doing ADRs online and then calling back to tell a CM that they had the DDP. If you'r going for dinner and are planning well enough in advance, why not call Disney Dining and speak directly to the CM

I would call and book directly with a person through the phone line. The person can notate that you are on the dining plan and then not charge you in full right away. The online reservation system often does not recognize the dining plan and will charge in full. Then, the only way to get that reversed is to have a phone agent cancel and rebook the entire reservation, which might be a problem if the date, time and party size you want is not available. Do this booking by phone, unless you consider it a viable alternative to pay for the entire meal in full and then have it refunded when you arrive and pay with dining credits.

I am pretty sure that for a party of 10 you have to call anyway, not make the reservation online.

We have a party of 10, (booked CRT on New Years Eve), and were able to complete the transaction online. The cost was charged on a credit card (and paid off), but we will receive a credit when we use deluxe dining credits on New Years Eve. The dining plan did not link in, but that also could have been since the room reservation was for a smaller party that what I was booking dining reservations for. I did not want to take a risk of losing the reservation by calling and having a phone agent attempt to rebook it later on since I was suprised to be able to get it in the first place.

My CC was charged when we booked our CRT ressie on-line. I called and CM cancelled the ressie and then immediately went and got it for me again and attached that we were on the DDP so my CC was not charged.

A couple of weeks later I found a CRT breakfast ressie. This time I was sure to attach my resort ressie, but my CC was still charged. I called and CM said that to cancel it and rebook could mean that I could lose the ressie. Since I really didn't want to lose it I paid for it on my CC. I can do as the PP said and have them credit my CC at the restaurant and pay with my dining credits.

I think since there are 10 in your party you will have to call anyway. Just make sure to tell CM you are on the DDP and your CC should not be charged.:thumbsup2
