This will be my first time at WDW with my children (DH went a few times as a child/teenager).

I need some advice. I was able to book CRT's for a late (8:45 pm) dinner in June for my family (2 adults, 7 yo dd and 9 yo ds). The total cost of this dinner is only slightly less than the semi-private tea with Sleeping Beauty at GF (although it would only be for my daughter and me).

Princess Aurora is my dd's favorite princess. And the only princess she was not able to "meet" on our Disneyland trip last year. However, I'm really drawn to having dinner in the castle. Especially since Wishes is supposed to start at 10 pm. I'm assuming that we can see the fireworks from inside the castle and that the timing will be right for us to see them.

In the plus column for the tea is that my son wouldn't have to "suffer" through a princess meal. But I think he might enjoy the fireworks.

Has anyone done both? Is the tea really "special"? Which did you prefer?

And finally, is there something cool that my dh and ds could do together if we end up doing the tea instead of CRT?

Thanks!

We always eat breakfast at the castle (my 2 dd's eat better at breakfast than dinner) We always enjoy eating there and have celebrated several birthdays and my wedding anniversary there. But... the My Disney Girl Tea Party was really special. We did it in March. The food was ok, but the overall experience was fabulous! I wished I could have worn a princess dress! I am so glad that we did the tea party. Your husband and son could go on a fishing trip in Bay Lake or rent the mouse boats. I don't think you can see much of the fireworks from inside the Castle. You would also miss getting to see Tinkerbell "fly" if you are inside the castle.

I also did both last Fall. CRT was breakfast though. I loved the tea. It was DD5, my mom and my sister. It was fun to dress up and go to GF. My DD wore a Belle dress. All the little touches were very sweet like announcing her as "princess" when she cam in the room and scattering her w/ rose petals. She also loves her My disney girl Aurora doll.
I think the castle meal was also great and everyone should eat there at least once, but it was kind of hectic and rushed.
My Disney Girl tea was very special.

There is definately a "rushed" feeling at the castle. The tea party almost felt like time was standing still for all the little princessess!

We did both in January and I would really recommend the Tea. I would guess there were around 15-20 girls there with their parents. It is very quaint and special and I thkn your girls would really love it! When we ate at CRT, there was no entertainment and it was only 1 TS from our DP,so it is different now. It is cool to be in the castle and my kids like the being there- we did meet Cinderella in the entrance- but my daughter plays with her Aurora doll and talks about that experience more than anything else!

Aurora is DD8's favorite.

We took our first trip when she was 6. We did the Tea, CRT breakfast, and PSB breakfast.

When she was 7 we did CRT lunch, and PSB dinner.

We enjoyed all of them, but DD's favorite was the Tea.
