Alright, I have the almighty coveted CRT reservation for my trip - a Noon reservation. I also have a reservation for CP on the same day. I almost feel blasphemous for even asking...

Question is - I am having a hard time deciding which to do...we are going during free dining, but if we go to CRT, we'll probably pay OOP. If we do CP we'll use a TS Credit. Both meals are right about the same time (CP might be a little earlier - one of the first lunch seatings).

We'll be doing a CP breakfast at some point in our trip (we've got 16 nights and credits, so we've got a lot of places to eat). We are also doing Akershus (princesses). Though neither Akershus nor CRT are really because of princesses...sure my BOYS like them - they're three and five, but they don't really care about the castle.

It's about ME - I have always thought it would be cool to eat in the castle and see it. Would they let me in to just see it for a couple of minutes, snap a couple of pics and go? Or is it like CA GRill that you have to have reservation just to enter the place?

My boys will probably be fine with either, but will probably LOVE CP more - they LOVE LOVE LOVE Pooh and Tigger...

What do you guys suggest? Which food is better? Which character interaction is better?

We did a CRT lunch and a CP breakfast, so I cannot compare apples to apples. What I can say was that we liked CP much better than CRT. CP palace is bright and cheerful and beautiful, CRT not so much. I know other folks will have other opinions, but that's mine.

We did CRT for dinner and CP for breakfast/dinner. IMHO, I liked the food at CP much better. I only did CRT to see what it is like, and I would not do it again. CP on the other I plan to do again.

We have eaten at the CP two times and both times everything was great. We've never eaten at CRT because, in all honesty, the menu doesn't appeal to us. While I would like to "eat in the castle", I also would like to eat something that we like. We are always on the dining plan and I don't want to waste 2 tables service credits on something we are more than likely not going to want to eat.

Thanks for your guys' input so far! I appreciate it. Do you think they'd let me go in and see what it looks like in there? I've always wanted to see it...that would satisfy my curiosity...

I do not know if they will let you in to see it, so one here is bound to know. Don't let us talk you out of it if you have your heart set on it. I'm like the other poster, we don't regret eating there but we would not do it again. We are eating again at Crystal Palace this trip. I do understand the magic and mystique of the castle though.

I would choose CRT only, because I dont like buffets. But everyone likes different things and it is the best place to see pooh and friends.

Welcome to the club!!!

I secured an ADR at CRT for 11 people on 12/6 of this year and cannot wait.

After everything I have read and heard, this figures to be a highlight of our 1st ever trip to WDW during the holiday season. While considerably harder to get into than CP, I will say that CP has been the best character meal to date and have been there twice; once for breakfast and once for dinner.

The dinner visit was nice because right after that, we were exactly where we wnated to be to see the evening fireworks over the castle. The food, service and interaction there was fabulous.

The big question you need to ask yourself is princesses or Pooh & Friends? Don't spend too much time fretting over the price as both are expensive; CRT particularly at $33 per adult and $23 for children and that's just breakfast.

All our ADR's are made for our first ever family trip this November. :woohoo: It's been a long time since our Disneymoon in '95! We have both an 8:05 am ADR for CP booked on my DS's 6th B-day and lunch at 12:05 pm the next day at CRT. Even though they've outgrown Pooh and friends, and aren't obviously into princess' (my other DS is 8) we just wanted as many different character meals in as possible for our 6 day trip. (we also have O'hana breakfast and LTT booked too) My boys are excited to get to go into the castle and be given swords from Cinderella. I also plan on ordering my DS6 the famous slipper dessert to comemorate his birthday the day before. Both places are very traditional WDW choices, and I really don't think you can go wrong with either. Enjoy which ever you choose!:thumbsup2 Yah-this probably wasn't very helpful to you, was it?

I've also got a booking for CRT for 11 in December but mines on the 8th for lunch. I wasn't going to do it as we are doing the Princess Storybook breakfast and it is expensive, but then thought....why not..we are travelling all that way and spending so much to get there, we don't want to miss out on something so unique for the sake of a few dollars.

In saying that we are doing CP too, for breakfast and we have 4 girls with us that are dying to eat in the castle.

You aren't the only one... We have CRT ADRs for dinner, but the more I read about CP and the more I think about the cost of CRT (and the new increase!), the more I think about switching to CP. The kids aren't into the Pooh characters, but Eeyore is *my* favorite of all the characters you can meet and the food just sounds sooooooo much better at CP. We have reservations for the BBB in the castle so DD will get some castle time even without doing CRT for dinner, but on the other hand it would be nice to have the CRT photo package with her all dolled up... And back & forth I go. :rotfl:
