CRT, online ADR, & cc's, oh my! :)

Okay, I am going to lay it all out there and see if I can figure this out...

This is what I remember from reading multiple threads about it.

Some people have been placing their CRT ADR online and their cc was charged even though they're on the DDP. It was brought up that you needed to pull your reservation up a first time and then again on the exact page where you make the reservation (which may not make sense, but I've actually seen where you do this because I tried even though I know I can't make my ADR's until Sept. 8th)... moving on, the person then tried this but claimed to have been charged anyway. It was then suggested that perhaps the person has used up all their credits. Even though we know which restaurants we'll be paying OOP the computer wouldn't, so perhaps it would charge you in that case. Now it's been said that you can call and a CM can refund your money and rebook you under the DDP. Some people have claimed that you have to lose your reservation and you may not get another one. Others have claimed you can just wait and get refunded once you're actually there. I want to know how to avoid getting charged altogether. Is it possible? For instance, I will have 5 TS credits and I would like to make 6 reservations. I know one will be OOP, but should I try and book the signature ones first, and then go back and book the other ones that don't require a cc? Would that make a difference? Or should I just cross my fingers and hope that buy calling first thing in the morning I'll still get my ADR's even though everyone else will have been making their reservations starting an hour earlier. Has ANYONE make an online ADR for CRT and NOT been charged? I'm just wondering where the error is happening and how to avoid it if I can.

Now, if you made it to the end of this novel and you understand it, then you win a prize!! :wizard:

I had read here on disboard that when you add CRT to your basket it should reflect "$0" for amount due. So when I tried the other day to do mine online and CRT came up with amount due $159 I knew something was wrong. I had signed in and linked my resort reservation - and it still showed an amount due. I went back to my resort reservation & for whatever reason the dining plan was not showing up.

So I went ahead and made all my ADRs for all the places that did not need a credit card guarantee. Then when the phone lines opened up I made the others - CRT, HDDR and the Backyard BBQ. The CM could see the dining plan, but for whatever reason it wasn't pulling up on line for me.

So if you put the ADR in your basket - and a dollar amount is showing up for you to pay - something didn't load correctly and apparently you will be charged.

Good luck.

I had the same FRUSTRATING thing happen to me this AM. I tried to book CRT and it was saying payment in full due even though I am on the dining plan. Not a cc to hold but wanted to charge me the $197.00 for it today! It was the first thing I was trying to book. I booked all my other stuff and then waited the hour to call WDW. I let her know about the problem. It turns out I don't want CRT after all. We wanted it for before MVMCP but only the Fairy Godmother is there for that time.

This is something new since last week. I don't know if it is a glitch in the system or a change in it where you have to call in now for anything requiring a cc gty when on the dining plan like CRT and dinner shows. Akershus requires a cc gty but is always $0.

For those of you that have encountered this call Disney, or email them from the 'contact us' page on disneyworld.com so that they can get it fixed if it is a glitch. The more of us that complain the quicker it will get fixed. I have made numerous online dining reservations, I am a TA, since the online option began and never had a problem with CRT or dinner shows for people on the dining plan until August 10th. Ever since then it has been asking for full payment no matter what you do. Calling in doesn't have this problem.

So it seems by best bet is just to call it in.

tinkmom2... how did you find out that only the Fairy Godmother would be there? Will this be the case on every MVMCP night? Will the CM tell me if The Princess will be there when I call to book it?
TIA! :)

Cinderella is always down in the lobby for pics at CRT on your way in. She's talking about who's up in the dining room. Breakfast and lunch have 4 other princesses. Dinner has the Fairy Godmother with Suzy and Perla doing a brief little show (no autographs or photos). Still magical, but if you want the princesses, dinner won't do it.

When I called for a 5:15 dinner time the CM told me that no Princesses would be at the dinner. I don't know if this is a normal everyday thing for that time or because it's the MVMCP that nite but that doesn't start til 7. I am going to take the breakfast at Epcot. It's one less credit and some princesses will be there. Anyway we get one on one princess time on our Disney cruise.

No, it's like this every day. Princesses are in the dining room only at B & L.
