CRT help

Do you all prefer PPO breakfast or a dinner at CRT?
We did CRT for dinner and loved it. My 5DD ordered the steak - devoured it and the server was nice enough to bring over another piece, which she proceeded to finish too. I'm not sure what the menu is for breakfast but dinner was excellent and we were rather surprised after reading some so-so reviews.

We are renting DVC points so no dining plan - all our meals are out of pocket.
You can still get the dining plan while renting points. The member does have to add it for you, but it is rather simple to buy a gift card in the amount of the dining plan for the member to use for payment.

Thanks so much for all of your help. We booked Akershus PPO and CRT but could only get 8:35pm which has me worrried about timing. We are a party of 4 - if we split the group in half Bot groups of 2 can get earlier times at the same time but would they allow us to sit together?

If they don't have any reservations for a party of 4, it stands to reason that they don't expect to have a table for a party of 4 at that time. You can always ask but be prepared to sit apart.

You can ask, but not guaranteed. I would keep looking for an earlier ADR for a party of 4.

I am another one voting for go for both. And we do breakfast at both usually pre opening times. And while time passes fast this past June I had to reserve Trattoria so my then 17 year old could get her Rapunzel fix.

I would not separate your group and keep checking back for earlier reservation times. Have you signed up for the free touring plans reservations finder?

We’ve done dinner there twice (2016 & 2018) and enjoyed it both times. We opted for dinner because we did not want to rush through the experience. This meal takes a bit longer than a standard one credit table service meal (we usually plan 2 hours for CRT) so a PPO breakfast will likely cut into rope drop and morning park time if that is important to you.

In Feb 2016 we had a 6pm reservation and caught the 8pm fireworks during dessert. They dimmed the lights and piped in the soundtrack for the Wishes fireworks show. Obviously the view is not great but, since we’d already seen the show the night before, it was a fun ending to our meal.

I’m also in the camp of go for all the princess meals/experiences before your daughter outgrows that phase. Our family loves character meals and, although we know the food is not usually the best, we still plan one for almost everyday of our trip because we love the unique Disney experience!

I can’t recall exactly how to navigate to the page on their site but if you put “touring plans reservation finder” into google it would always take me directly to the page.

Yes it’s on their site and you don’t need a subscription to use it. It works great for most reservations, but I’ll caution you that the issue with CRT is its prepaid so not as fluid in terms of people changing plans around. But definitely worth a try!

We've only had lunch at CRT, but it was great. It was last November and I was a little worried because so many reports here say that you are paying for the castle experience and the food is terrible. We thought the food was fantastic. For starters we had the charcuterie plate and the soup of the day (it was a bisque the day we were there), DH and I both had the shrimp and beef for our entrees and then for desert I had the Clock Strikes 12 and I think DH had the Jaq and Gus. Everything was fantastic. We got a table right up by the window over looking Fantasyland.

Was Ariel there for lunch? We have a CRT lunch res and a FP to meet Ariel right after. Thinking of changing that!

She wasn't the day we were there. We saw Cinderella downstairs and the had Aurora, Snow White and Rapunzel upstairs, but I think they rotate fairly often on who is there other than Cinderella. I've seen other reports where they met Ariel, Mulan, or Jasmine in the mix too.
