CRT for Dinner

I'm looking for some thoughts on eating at Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner. I have had breakfast in the castle before, but never dinner. Is the food good? Am I right in thinking there are no characters around then? I know at breakfast they tend to rush you a bit, is this still the case at night?

Is there a service charge for eating there over a holiday? We will be there the week of the 4th of July, so I'm thinking there is one. If so, how much more will it cost?

At dinner, you still get the meet & greet (and photo package) with Cinderella downstairs after you check in. They deliver the photos during your meal.

We ate there for dinner last May, and had low expectations for the food based on reviews, but we mainly wanted to eat in the castle so we were o.k. with the idea food might be really so-so.

We were pleasantly surprised...thought the food was way better than indicated. Service was good, we did not feel rushed at all (meal took just over an hour from the time we were actually seated until we left.) DH & I both had the beef & enjoyed it. DD (19 yrs. old) had the pasta dish -- said it was better than "college food" and she ate most of it. Her friend had the salmon, and said it was not the best he'd ever eaten, but was good (he ate every bit.) We all loved the desserts...don't remember what everyone had, but seems like we had 3 different desserts? We really enjoyed the atmosphere -- it is amazing fun to eat in the castle. As for characters-- the mouse maids, Susie & Perla, quickly make the rounds, stopping at each table for quick pictures. Then the Fairy Godmother shows up & does a little song/dance around about what you will celebrate. She does not stop for pictures...if you want her picture, have your camera ready to catch a photo as she swirls by your area.
