We tried this am to get two separate PS for CRT...one for 4 and the other for 5. Well, I got 8:25 for the group of 4 but when my wife got through, they were sold out. She was then told by the CM that we should have called for all 9 with one call and they would have to put us at two tables (no problem). I had thought that all dining of 8 or more people had to go through group dining and would take longer, but I guess since CRT doesn't have that large of tables, they just split your group.

Anyone ever get CRT for a larger group... I am just worried that the call will take too long and I won't get my ressie. IN fact, this am the girl told me, I have an 8:20 would you like that one??? I said sure, and then she said oops, someone grabbed that one already, how about 8:25. That was quick.

You should be fine asking for nine- you are only sent to group dining for groups of 13 or more- or maybe 12. We had reservations for groups of 11, 12, and 13 before- we split the group of 13 up by asking for ps for 10 and 3 and that worked. I figured all this out the year we had 13- they kept wanting to transfer us to group dining- meaning by the time we were transferred we had no chance. A nice cm explained this to me one morning. Anyway, we've been able to get a ps for a group of 11 and 12 without splittling up the ps. Once the ps was secure, we were told we would be at separate tables but they would be beside each other- and they were. Good luck!!! Just ask for a ps for a group of 9 anytime and you should be fine. Sending pixie dust your way!!! princess:

I had a group of 11 last year and had no problem at all getting a PS and we all sat together on the long booth-style seats right next to the entrance. We have a wonderful time! They were actually 3 tables that they pushed together most of the adults took the inside and left the outside seats for the kids. Our princesses loved it! Have a great time. :cool1:

We ate there last May with 12, plus 2 infants. They put us at 2 tables, but we were fine with that. The problem with 2 people calling to split the reservation, aside from 1 person not getting a ps at all like happened to you, is that what if your ps is for 8:05 and your wife gets a time of 10:20?

Hi, got CRT for our trip coming up for our family of 10! got through for my first choice for my DD's 7th birthday on may 20th 8.15, phoned yesterday for the same group for dinner at CG, was told I had to phone group dining :confused3 so the rules are not clear cut! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

That's weird... I have never even heard of group dining! We just got back, had 10 people in our party, and I made 5 different priority seatings - 2 for CRT (canceled one), 2 for 50s Prime Time (canceled 1) and 1 for Whispering Canyon. All were for 10, and I did them all through the normal WDW-DINE thing. So what is this group dining thing? A different phone number, different rules? Interesting... by the way, I also got DDE and it worked great at all times we tried to use it.

I was as surprised as you are? also booked FDp for the 10 of us on the usual number, group dining is a seperate number. I posted a thread yesterday, asking was it right to use group dining, there were very mixed reviews, i feel that it depends who you speak to in disney when you call, which does not help when you are making expensive international calls, might try group dining one evening this week to see what they say :confused3

In December, 2003 we had a total of 19 people at a special family get together at WDW. We all really wanted to eat breakfast in the castle. We had about 5 people calling and we used the regular line, the group dining, and a toll free number between the various ones of us. 2 of us got the ressie (we immediately called back and cancelled, which I'm sure made quite a number of people happy!) and they did actually end up seating us all together at one very large, long table. It was along the back wall and had several tables together and even though we had a PS we still waited over 30 mins after arriving, but it was worth it. Good luck.

I made all my PS's in January for our April trip for a party of 9. The only time they transferred me to group dining was for the Hoop Dee Doo. All the other PS's I got just like everyone else using regular disney dining. I even got CRT no problem - my sister in law got it too! So we needed to cancel one... we got to be pros calling in at 6:59 every day. I figured with such a big party, I wanted to call everyday bright and early for all my PS's. I got every one that I wanted!

Good luck!
