We only have one child - a 6 year old son - but I would love for us to eat at CRT on our next trip. I'm not really into princesses, either, myself, but just think it would be really cool to eat there. I asked dh and ds, and they both liked the idea, too !! DS6 said that he could dress as Prince Charming ! :) Anyone else done it just with a son - how did they like/not like it ? Also - when's the best time to eat ? I was thinking early, before the parks open ? Thanks ! :)

I dont have a son, but iv'e been there before with my 7 year old brother. As far as food goes, its refreshing and excellent. It is a little princess-y, but its NOTHING compared to 1900park fare in GF. I personally would go before the park opens because its easier to navigate to the castle without huge crowds. Plus;you'll get a great headstart to your day!!:thumbsup2
Hope I helped!!!

We've been to CRT with our two boys, and it was fun. The boys got swords, and thought it was cool to eat in the castle.

DS (6) on our trip in December

My 6 yr. old son has no interest in princesses what-so-ever. We have been to CRT at least 4 times with him. We let him wear either his Peter Pan costume, Captain Jack Sparrow or Buzz Lightyear. He is happy as a clam.

He always orders the Chicken and Pasta with cheese and has to have the chocolate crown sundae at the end.

Go and have a great time! :)

I took my 3 boys aged 6, 5 and 2 1/2. I think we've hit almost all the character meals and this is their favorite by far! They loved being inside the castle, getting their swords, the wishing ceremony and and posing for pics with the knight statues. They even handled princess pics with minimal embarrassment issues. :lmao:

I loved the timing of the first breakfast seating as we were first on Dumbo and finished out Fantasyland by a little after 10. And the pics with the Castle and an empty Main Street before going in were awesome too!

This has become a must do for our family :goodvibes

My son LOVED CRT. He got to kiss all the princesses! And he was excited to be inside the castle.

My son and I ate there on our first trip when he was 8. I think he liked all the attention from the princesses :)

We are having lunch there. My DD will be done up at the BBB before hand and my DS, 9 (and DH!) will become a pirate at The Pirate League. Maybe your son would like to be a pirate as well (in case the Prince Charming thing doesn't work out). He'll have a blast and it'll be nice to have another young man there!

Thanks everyone for your input !! I just made my first ever ADR - at CRT !! It's on our first full day, which we planned on taking it easy on, for 9.15am - after we have eaten, we'll probably head over to World Showcase at Epcot (it's an EMH morning at Magic Kingdom). I also made an ADR at the Crystal Palace a few days later, at 8.15am, so we'll get a chance to see the park before the crowds appear. Now, to find my son a Prince Charming costume ! :)
