CRT for 10 - do I need to reserve 8 + 2?

My ADR window opens Sunday for 180+10 so I've been "practicing" online the last couple of mornings right at 6:00 EST for a reservation at 180 days. Each time I've tried to reserve 10 people right on the dot at 6:00 it shows no availability but I can reserve for 8 and go back and get another one for 2 people at the same time. My actual date wanted will be 180+2.

So is this the strategy I need to use on Sunday? Then do I call online dining at 7:00 and ask them to combine the reservations? We are staying CL so I have the option of asking DSS to fix it (though I don't want to do initial reservations through them).
 
I don’t think they have a table for 10 at CRT. I could be wrong but most of the tables are for 2 and 4 I think. They may be able to push some tables together here and there, but I don’t think 10 will fit.

I’d split the group 6/4, arrive early and ask to be seated next to each other.

I had wondered about that. In looking at pictures it does look like the largest table is for 8. I'm also wondering about doing 8+2 to let the parents and kids all sit together and Nana and Papa can sit at a table for 2 but not sure we'd have as good of a chance at being seated close together with that combination?

I'm not sure where the table for 8 is. Perhaps in the middle of the room? If Nana and Papa have to sit by themselves, would the be comfortable far away from the rest of the party? That's why I suggested 6/4 split.
 

First question, does everybody really want to go? It's ok if they don't.

Maybe someone who has done crt w a large party can weigh in. Anyone?
 
I know there are table for 8 we have eaten there with that many and we were in the middle of the room.

That's a great question...but yes everyone wants to go. It's the only TS meal we are doing besides a breakfast at TH. Kids are all under 6 so keeping ADRs to a minimum.

I think 6/4 is the best plan after looking at more images of the room. I think that gives us the best chance of being seated near each other.
