CRT food was Awful!!

We're eating at CRT for the first time (and maybe the last lol) on 11/18 for dinner. We just wanted to eat in the castle once, and check it off our bucket list. We're not going in with any high hopes, we just want to experience dinner in the castle. We shall see how the food and service are! I will be doing a dining report and I will let everyone know our experience :goodvibes:goodvibes

No, but it is the symbolic center of one. Walt's and his vision, to be precise.

And it's an establishment that should pride itself in serving high quality food with a nod toward imagination and innovation and in a style befitting the Disney reputation for being just a little bit better than all of the rest of the competition out there.

But, hey - If the chicken nuggets were warm I guess that's all that matters.[/QUOTE]

Excellent observation. Served on paper plates might help people feel more at home, too. Better yet, turn CRT into a counter service restaurant. It'll still be in the castle...

As far as I'm concerned, CRT is now an attraction like any other ride in MK. Line 'em up, snap a photo, sit 'em down, slap some vittles on the table, run the princesses around in a marathon, empty the room and repeat.

While the food there was definitely lacking, I have to say that it was the best character experience we had at a meal. The princesses spent plenty of time at our table, so much so that the lady at the next table griped about we were taking too much time. We were encouraged to take our time and enjoy our meal and our dining experience. When I didn't like my appetizer, our server told me what was the best thing on the menu and then brought it out to me with no questions asked. The night we were there, the only thing that could have been better was the food.

The affordability trend is moving more TS restaurant to be closer to a counter service restaurant in comparison to what they were over a decade ago, when quality was the focus. The dining plans have shifted diners from CS to TS, so it is easy to downgrade their TS operations and still fill their restaurants. It also amazes me how many people actually think Free Dining is free. Disney executives have to be loving how people are falling for this marketing wordsmithing and will shortly accept an average restaurant being upgraded to signature. Just like people on the dining plans perceive their not paying for meals when on site and forget you have to work at getting the savings under a plan.

Sorry to hear about your disappointing experience, OP. Unfortunately, I've heard a lot of the same comments and no longer recommend CRT to my friends who ask. (I'm the resident Disney planner, as I'm sure that many of you are!)

It seems that dining in the castle would be a very special experience, wouldn't it...especially with those *very* special prices! :scared1:

I agree! You also did not get ripped off, with the price :lmao:

Wow!!! Those prices are awesome:eek:

We are doing the dinner in January for DD's 4th birthday celebration. It's about her you know? However as we are not really big breakfast people we chose dinner over lunch because it looked like there was going to be some sort of beef entree for DH. (He really didn't even like the look of the lunch menu...)
