CRT dinner reviews? (from the past 5 months?)

Hi! I've been searching for recent reviews for CRT dinner, but I haven't come up with any! They're all breakfast and lunch. I have reservations for August and I'm really hoping it's not quite as bad as some have implied. I'm just telling myself if it is, we will just enjoy the setting, take some pictures, eat the dessert (how bad could that be? ) and pick up some nibbles later at one of the CS spots- like Columbia Harbour House.

Does anyone know of any links to CRT dinner review threads or have any recent opinions to share?

I would also like to know about dinner. We went last Sept and we enjoyed it however, there are very mixed reviews since they changed it. I'm second guessing if I should use 2TS for this or not.

Dinner so not worth it unless the idea of eathing in the castle is somehow special to a first timer.

Dinner is a photo op with cindy in the lobby while waiting for your table. Then you go upstairs to the restaurant. Periodically during the evening (we were there an hour and it only happened once) Fairy Godmother comes out with the mice and does a song and dance (little to no personal interaction we had none but others report some) this along with a monologue by the fairy godmother where whe makes you think something special is going to happen if you are celebrating something but never does takes about 10 minutes. All characters then gone and you 'enjoy' your meal. We werent turned off by the lack of choices on the menu because (1) we love prime rib and (2) the kids wouldnt have eaten much reguardless. We both got the prime rib so I cant speak for the rest of the menu but the prime rib wasnt good hubbie spoke wistfully of the sliced prime rib at the CP and didnt finnish his. I thought it tasted like the single serving packaged stuff i picked up at the grocery once. I cant remember what my dd ordered but she didnt eat it and neither kid liked the pretzel dogs. Deserts were okay but not great. Dd had a birthday special cupcake - woo hoo. and son had a kid sunday that my dd wanted. our sorbet was okay but for two dining credits I expected such better food.

Service was near excellant. Server was gone too long at one point but otherwise very good. Table was set with confetti for the occasion. Server treated my birthday girl awesome and played along delivering her a special invitation (from 'cinderella' that i had made) with her birthday cupcake.

I kept going back and forth on this ADR, but I'm keeping it. We'll be there for dd's 13th birthday on 8/21, so I'll post a review when I come home. She really wants to eat in the castle for her birthday. I told her it was way too expensive, so she doesn't think we are doing it. I'm leaving an invitation to the dinner on our table when she goes up to the buffet at CP for her birthday breakfast.

We'll be there for dinner on the 19th, so I'll try to post a review as well, though it doesn't help anyone going early then we are. We are going mainly for the view and because we did it 5 years ago for our honeymoon. We were actually quite thankful that there is little to no character interaction since we are doing it for the view and to eat in the castle and not for the characters.

We were at CRT for dinner last week. Our experience was similar to that of Beth_cam. We thought that the service was very good (consistently some of the fastest service in WDW). We enjoyed the prime rib, and have eaten here many times in the past 20 years. The desserts are disappointing. Overall, it is probably not worth a double credit, though, unless you put a premium on eating in the castle and standing in line to get a photo with a princess. For my family, we'll probably not do it again until we have extra credits to burn. But when we do, we'll probably use them at CRT for dinner.
