Hello everyone!

I have a reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table and am on the Disney Dining Plan.

If I am unable to make my reservation (due to illness or something else unexpected), is the meal charged to my credit card, or does Disney deduct Dining Plan credits from my package?

Without any other information, my guess is that they would just charge my card. Is that correct?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Your credit card is charged when you make the ressie. If you wish to use DDP credits, they will charge the credits to your DDP and then refund your credit card, but that might not happen until the next months transactions. We just went on and kept the credits and pre-paid it on our CC.

If youre on the DDP they take the credit card info as a guarantee. If you no show they charge the card the full amount

Thanks for your responses!

I really appreciate that information. It makes sense, as it assures that Disney would receive their money even if we were "no-shows."

Thanks again!

That is not true. When you make the reservation they take your credit card information just in case you do not show up, then they would charge your credit card.

When I called and made our ressies for Feb., they asked if we were going to be on the DP. At that time, I wasn't sure if we would or not.

So since we hadn't added it, they did charge our cc for the FULL amount of our ressie. It showed up right away as a charge on our cc statement (charged the day I called and made the ressie).

We since have decided to do the DP, so when I called, they immediately credited our cc. The cc statement shows the credit being processed on the day I called back.

My understanding is that if you use the DP, they still need a cc to hold/guarantee your ressie. If you cancel/no show after the cancellation period, then your cc is charged the appropriate amount for what ever meal you chose and for the number of people you reserved the table for.

Related question- I have seen posts from people saying that it is a better deal to pay outright for CRT, and keep your 2TS credits. Any thoughts on this?

Sigh...I did the same thing but my credit never showed up. How come I never get the good CM on the first try? I need to try again.

When I first posted about how to get my credit card credited, someone recommended it to me. However, I feel that 7 ADR's for our vacation is plenty and don't want to try to add 2 more. DH will complain about having to always be somewhere at an appointed time. But that's just up to you and your touring and eating styles. Do you want more TS? Do you mind having more times on your schedule?

As far as value, you could probably get more $ worth at 2 separate TS. You'll have to decide what is more important to you.
