CRT choices

We are eating dinner at CRT over spring break. It's our first time!!

Obviously we are going for the experience. I've looked over the menu and I'm not too thrilled with the choices.

So my question is, what can I do if anything if I don't like what I order? Are you able to ask for more bread? Are you able to get extra dessert? With drinks can you order a Coke with dinner and coffee with dessert?

I've been to a place or two where I - or DH or DD - didn't like what we ordered (like after a bite or two) and the wait staff graciously offered to bring something else out in its place, which more times than not we opted against. Didn't get extra dessert, but didn't ask for it either so not sure about what they will/won't do about that. Bread, I shamelessly admit that we ask for lots of pretzel bread at Le Cellier and they bring it out as often as we've asked for more, but again not sure if they bring out as much as you want.

I think it depends on the restaurant and your server. If you order something that you don't like, simply because it is not your taste versus poorly prepared etc, they don't need to do anything. As @ErinsMommy stated, often they will offer to bring something else. But you can't rely on that.
We too have asked for extra bread. You can order 2 desserts or extra beverages, but I would plan on paying for them.
It is tough, because you are going somewhere where the menu doesn't really appeal to you. That is not the restaurants responsibility, its yours.
Good Luck

Have you tried looking at the food allergy menu there? If that doesn't help - think about trying to go at breakfast.

Order the gnocci without vegetables? Can't really get more basic than that on an already basic menu.

I suspect that you'll be fine. If you choose something that you don't like, and let them know, good customer service says that they will offer an alternative. I wouldn't worry at all about asking for more bread.
I know I haven't answered all of your questions, but I hope you have a magical time!

I think the menu at CRT makes the food sound more fancy/complicated that it actually is. I had the chicken, it had some long description, but it was just chicken and vegetables, it's was nice, nothing to hate about it. I think you'll be fine.

The food is not fancy, It just sounds that way. If you really do nto like the menu, I woudl think about a different meal there. I think that lunch is still different than dinner, and breakfast is always an alternative.

I had the fish of the day which was Salmon and it was delicious :) The "Bruno's Favorite Dessert" was very disappointing though. Keep in mind, the menu changes regularly. You can always pre-order a specialty dessert. I ordered prince cupcakes for my two boys and they were really, really huge.

Talk to your wait staff if you do not see anything on the menu that you like. They were very accommodating when we were there.
My DD is 11 so a Disney adult. It was difficult for her to find something on the adult menu. The waitress we had was amazing. She said whatever my DD wanted, she would make happen. My DD picked a few things on the menu that she liked (here and there) and they made an adult meal for her out of it! Great experience!

Thanks everyone for your input. We are pretty much locked in to dinner given our vacation plans. You are right when you suggest that breakfast would be better for my tastes and I did try for a breakfast reservation but all to no avail.

I am excited for the experience, but when you spend over 300 for dinner I can't help but hope to like something! I'm a person that likes to be prepared which I why I look at menus before hand. Obviously if I don't see something I like I will not go. However, with little ones CRT is a must I feel and I cannot order anything but a meal, no ordering just an app or salad in order to just appease every one, which is why I asked.

So thank you to all who were helpful. It's nice when people answer questions without lecturing or scolding.

what do you like to eat? I have become the master of putting together a meal my kid will like from available options at a disney restaurant (he is pretty picky). They are pretty accommodating about leaving sauces off etc, if you just want a plain steak and some mashed potatoes or something they will do it for you.

I would love steak and mashed potatoes! Honestly, it's mainly the accompaniments that turn me off. Vegetables that I don't enjoy, pureed beans, spinach root, etc. Thank you for suggesting this. If this is something they can do it will allow me to enjoy my dinner and not have to fill up on extra bread, haha.

I'm sure you can order the "Grilled Beef Tenderloin" (which is just a steak) plain and without the shrimp if you don't like them, and mashed potatoes are on the kid's menu. I took my son to CA Grill on the deluxe plan and he had a plain filet with a side of mac and cheese (which was its own kid menu item). He was in his glory and it was his favorite meal of the whole trip. Don't be afraid to check out the other sides, even on the kid's menu and mix and match as you please!

I'm a super picky eater and was a little turned off by the menu at CRT. But I ordered the chicken and I have to say it was AMAZING. Like others said, I think they just try to make it sound fancy and complicated.

Would it be an option for you to order from the kids menu? My daughter got a roasted chicken leg that looked good and very basic. Financially it probably makes less sense but at least you could get something you like.
