Curious as to what answer you found for yourself. I think the way it works is that they charge your credit card for the deposit and then when the bill comes for your meal it is for the total less the deposit. Is that what you found?
Yes, it's $10/adult $5/child, applied to the price of your meal. Since I used DreamRes to book my trip, they allow you to make PS' for your party- I never knew there was another way to do it! Crossing my fingers that they come through...has anyone else used this?
Just a heads up to check your bill...
We ate at CRT this past Jan. We had put the reservation on the CC and honestly, I never checked to see if it came through. When we paid the bill at CRT it was for the full amount of the breakfast. I just assumed we had given our CC to hold the reservation (and it would be charged if we didn't show up). As we were leaving Snow White was in the lobby so we got in a (long!) line and waited to get a picture. About 5 minutes later our waiter came running down the stairs and grabbed us. He said we had been overcharged and gave us the cash equivalent of our deposit ($35). Our CC had been charged at the time of the reservation...
I would never have known and was very impressed that we received this cash back!
Everyone else probably checks their CC statements so this would be a non-issue but you may want to double check your bill before you pay!!
WDW are asking for a CC number to make reservations for more and more dining reservations. When you are making ps for holidays such as Easter they are looking for CC. Can't blame them with all the no-shows they must have but I think we need to remember that it is up to the customer to be extra vigilant when checking our CC statements. After all they don't make mistakes often but they do make them!!
