Quick question - We are doing CRT for dinner in a few weeks (first time to WDW). We upgraded our 9-year-old to adult for the dining plan, so that he'd have better options for CS meals.

But at CRT, I know he wouldn't like anything off the adult menu. Does anyone have experience in an "adult child" ordering off the kids menu? I read a post somewhere else where the person was told anyone listed as an adult couldn't order off the kids meal, but not sure if that was just a fluke/cranky CM or if that's standard practice at the castle.

I'm staring to panic as I don't want to use 2 TS credits if he's going to be miserable and not eat anything, so I'd love to hear any experiences you've had.

I just read an article today on this website that Magic Kingdom is putting new kid menu items in their table service restaurants.

CRT is adding chicken drumette, grilled beef skewers, and chicken pot pie.

These sound much better than the current menu for kids.

It's my understanding that older kids can still order from the kids menu if they prefer. If you are at a restaurant with an a la carte type menu, you get charged kid prices. But, in the case of a pre-fixed amount, such as buffets and family style meals, (like CRT), you have to pay the adult price, no matter what they order.
