We'll be on the Dining Plan in October and trying to decide on CRT and Akershus for lunch or dinner. The party will be DH, me, DS and DD, both 3.

For CRT, we'll be in MK anyway and maybe taking a mid-day break at the hotel. Should we do CRT for lunch and then head back to hotel or come back fresh for CRT dinner?

For Akershus, which food is better? Lunch or Dinner?

Thanks!!

Breakfast! We had dinner there not very good I believe the lunch menu is similar. We are planning dinner at Chip ‘N’ Dale’s Harvest Feast at The Garden Grill when we are there our little girl will be turning 4.

That is the 1st negative I've EVER heard about the food at Akershus!!! I've heard both lunch and dinner are fantastic. Making our 1st trip to Akershus in May for a late lunch. Both menus look YUMMY!!!

To the OP, I think it depends on your kiddos. That break for lunch in the middle of the day can be a lifesaver, but if they'll take that break at the resort, dinner will be great too (especially since the princesses are at dinner now too!)

We're doing lunch on our arrival day as a way to welcome ourselves to WDW!

Well make this the second time you have ever heard it. I hated the food at dinner as did the rest of my family. When we go there we do Breakfast ONLY!

Third.. :sad1:

We will probably only go back to try breakfast. But in all honesty in the two times we have done it we have been less than impressed by the character interaction. The first time it was just my husband and myself, so we just figured the characters were trying to get to the tables with kids. But we went back this Feb. with our kids and we had the same results. The princesses just seemed really rushed. We saw each character once, but it went by so quickly.

Both times we went was for dinner. None of us were impressed by our entrees, but enjoyed he the cold board offerings. We might try it for breakfast in a few years especially if our new little one ends up being another girl, but for now we're putting it on the back burner.

:confused3
Everyone has a different opinion...
1. I come from a Norwegian family, so I am used to some of the traditional Norwegian foods and have also gotten to try dishes I had only read about. :goodvibes

2. The appetizer buffet has lots of choices, from salad, to breads, gravlax, norwegian cheeses, shrimp salad, pickled herring, etc.

3. Norwegians are renown fishermen, ergo fish is something they do extremely well. I always order a fish entree- usually North Atlantic salmon- absolutely tender & delicious!

4. Dessert is scrumptious- a sampling of two Norwegian desserts and chocolate mousse the last time I was there.

5. Before dining you will get a formal picture taken with a princess (it was Belle the night we were there) and you will get one 8 x 10 and two 4 x 6 copies of the picture for no extra fee- just as a part of your dinner package.

6. We are not going DXDP on our next trip, just DDP, and I am planning on celebrating my 40th birthday with dinner @ Akershus :cloud9:

hope you enjoy your dinner, no matter where it is! :yay:

^^^ Totally loved dinner at Arkeshus. Definitely order the salmon. Yummy!

Actually, we've since changed to lunch at CRT and will do Akershus on our next visit. We're only 4 hours away so hoping to go back next year, too.

We didn't mind lunch at Akershus. The only thing I didn't like was waiting. We usually go for breakfast and I try to get one of the first seatings. The last time, we decided to try lunch and we had to wait and wait and wait to be seated.

The food was good, though!

I'm going to pitch in an idea that doesn't have to do with food since I've found that the tastes/menus are usually the came (at least in my opinion). But I will say this - since you have 2 little ones, choose the time that they will able to enjoy the experience most! Will they nap and you'll go right to dinner? Will you have to wake them in order to make your res? After doing WDW with a 6,4, and 1 yr old twice, that's how I've learned to plan ressies. We've found that breakfast is the easiest (b/c we start our day with it and don't have plan around a mealtime) and most enjoyable for all of us since we've just gotten a decent night's sleep. Have a great time!

Great suggestion. We went back to the resort every day so my 3.5 year old grand daughter could nap. She usually slept 2PM-4 or 5PM and we had made ressies for around 6:30-7PM. She was always in great spirits after napping and as it was 92-93 everyday, the adults enjoying getting out of the heat too.

We love lunch at CRT...have never been to breakfast or dinner and plan to stick with lunch, we enjoy the mid-day break so much.

As for Akershus, my DD and myself are picky eaters, so we have only done the breakfast. We are planning on doing breakfast again in Nov.
