CRT and Akershus in the Same Trip?

We are planning that on our upcoming trip. I don't think it is overkill for us, but every family is different. It's all about the kids for me - and I think my DD3 would prefer to have EVERY meal with princesses. But my DS9 wouldn't like that too much, so we are doing those two princess meals along with many other non-princess character breakfasts.
How often can you have meals with the princesses near your home? We don't get the chance except when we visit Disney, so we make sure to get all the character meals we can handle (but throw in regular meals to keep us adults sane.)

We did both in Sept, both for lunch. I didn't think it was overkill. But DD3 LOVES princesses! We saw princesses in Epcot, twice in MK, etc so the whole trip was princess overload! Granted DD3 was thrilled. We enjoyed both Akershus & CRT and are doing both again in May, for breakfast this time. Depending on the age of your kids, I think it's awesome! We loved the character meals, and the whole trip was mostly for DD3.

We saw Belle in yellow dress, Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel & Aurora at Akershus and Cinderella, Jasmine, Snow White, Aurora & Belle in blue dress at CRT. So there was only one princess different (Ariel vs. Jasmine). But we had fun with both. In May we are putting one at the beginning of the trip and one at the end of the trip.

Too many princesses? No such thing!

We did all 3 last trip!! CRT, Akershus and 1900 PF. DD was in heaven! :cloud9:

We've done both on one trip and are doing both again next month. Also doing CP, Chef Mickey's , 1900 Park Fare breakfast and dinner, and a .

We love the character meals!

I know this will sound nuts...and personally, I don't care..but isn't it weird that they have belle in blue dress at CRT?? Wouldn't you think she'd be in her gown at the castle??? She is with royalty, after all! :)

We are having lunch at CRT on our arrival day 5/18, and dinner at Akershus 5/19. Add Breakfast and Dinner at Chef Mickey's, Dinner at Garden Grill, Breakfast at Cape May Cafe. Can you tell we have kids and like the Character Meals...lol! I really think it's up to each family what's best for them.

We've done both the last few trips - and 1900PF too - and we have all boys!

I have 2 boys but they are little so I know that in a couple of years I can't get away with princess meals (except maybe the castle because it's the castle)! Their cousins (both girls, ages 6 and 9 when we go) are joining us (along with my parents and sister) the first few days of our trip in July, and they love princesses. My boys will only be 3 and 5 on our trip and are excited to go to dinner at the castle AND lunch at Akershus with the princesses!

We were originally planning to only go to the castle and do a different restaurant than the rest of the family in the WS at Epcot, but then DH and I decided that this may be our only chance to try Akershus (we're curious about the food). We asked the boys and they said yes, they would love to go there and meet the princesses a second time. So we decided to stay with the rest of the family and go there as well.

So, to answer your question, no, it does not seem like overkill to us! We're also doing dinner at Chef Mickey's, dinner at Crystal Palace, breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, and breakfast at Cape May Cafe.

Well, yeah, it is a little weird, but I think it's easier to greet tables with. I doubt the yellow dress would be squeezing through the tables. At Akershus, you get your picture with Belle in her yellow dress which is very beautiful, but she doesn't have to go table to table. Belle is in her blue dress during Storytime with Belle, and I think also in Epcot (we didn't get to see her in Epcot, just Beast) and in her yellow dress in Toontown.

Add us to the multiple princess ADR list. We did Akershus, CRT and 1900 Park Fare in April; CRT and Akershus in October and we're planning Akershus and CRT for May. DD cannot get enough princesses. She's asking to add 1900 Park Fare for May. If I can work it into the itinerary, we may just do all 3 again.

it's not weird at all. Look at it this way.... in a weeks time, you'll be back home again . You won't have the experience again to share a meal with the Princesses or any other characters until you go back.....so why not enjoy your trip to the fullest while you're there ?
We're planning on doing most all of the character meals (rotating meals) so that my DD4 will have all of these memories. I want her to have the best time she can and with her (and everyone is different) I know that seeing the characters will just blow her little mind !! :rotfl: the way I look at it, you're at Disney....give yourself the best Disney experience you can while you have it. Because once you're home, that experience is gone. (until you go back!) Plus, from what I've read about each of the different Princess meals (and character meals for that matter), they are all unique and different. But to see your child's face when he / she sees a "real live princess" or Winnie the Pooh or Mary Poppins..... that is how memories are made !!! :lovestruc

We did both in Dec 08 and it wasn't overkill but I thought Akershus was a better deal in terms of time each princess spent at the table. The CRT was fun too but seemed more assembly-line like. Some may depend on how many times you visit WDW. I didn't think we would be back within the next year or so and my DD was already 6 so I wanted her to have as much fun with the princesses as possible while she was still awed by them.

We did both on our last trip, and it certainly wasn't overkill for our DD. We went to WDW for her 6th birthday and she wanted all princess all the time!

We are planning to go this fall and will do both again. They are different enough that they don't seem redundant.

We are doing both of those and tusker, 1900,crystal, ohuna, cape may, chef, playhouse disney, I think that's it on the offical character add in tempo eddo, wcc, artist point, a few others

There is no such thing as too much for kids. If they love it, they want it over and over. Just ask DD2 who wants to watch Monsters, Inc every single day.
