Leaving in less than a week. Anyone there now or just come back that can tell me about crowd level and lines? I'm sure it was busy this past Holiday weekend. This is our first time going in September.
Thanks a bunch!

We were there from 8/26 through 9/3. It was our very first trip during the summer, and I had braced myself for larger crowds than I was used to (other trips were taken either early Feb. or mid-Oct). It wasn't until a few weeks before we left that I realized that many southern schools would be back in session starting 8/15, more the following week, so this last week before Labor Day would be great.

I was not disappointed. I'd say that most lines were 10 minutes or less; many rides we just walked on. We did fastpass a few rides, but many times it was just to ride 'back-to-back' times. The only line that was truly long was for Soarin' in Epcot...ran about 60 minutes, but we used fastpass and didn't have to wait. When we returned to Epcot later in the week, the line was only 20 min...not bad at all.

Was it hot? Yes, but I live in Jersey and the heat/humidity was not really much worse than I'm used to during a heat wave here.

We'd definitely consider doing the last week of August again.

I went this week last year and it was empty till the night of joy started. Granted it was during and after hurricane Frances but I walked on EVERYTHING. Hope this helps a little.

Thanks!! Live in NC (job transfer). From NJ though. Anyway, our kids go to year round school and we are getting out and leaving next week. Usually go first week of Dec. We are expecting it to be hot but It's been hot here too. Glad to here not many people.

Thanks again.

We are here now. We haven't been to the parks yet, but by judging how DTD and the resorts look, it is not crowded at all

I'll let you know tomorrow how the parks are

It is raining like cats and dogs. That may keep crowds down also ;)

We just got home last night after 12 days at the POLY during the week it was great, crowds were not bad at all. Then during the holiday weekend (2-5) The parks were packed but not as bad as i thought.......soo overall not to bad! :wave2:

Lucky you to be going in September. Did it once when the kids were real young. You will enjoy

We have been in Aug / Sept time frame before and it has never been bad - a lot of walk on rides, but hoping the free dining won't increase the crowds too much. :sunny:

KATEBETH! You're there now?! WOW! (I'm at work - BOOO)
If you get this before Friday, please let me know if you were able to eat in any of the popular restaurants WITHOUT reservations.

I'll be there on Friday evening YAY!!!

Just got back from a 8/28 to 9/3 stay. The crowds were lighter than our last trip the 2nd week of December. At every park in the AM rides had a 5-10 minute wait posted, but were in fact walk-on. Only waited for any length 2xs-Once for Soarin and once for Peter Pan of all things! :goodvibes We are spoiled now and don't think we could handle long waits after this trip!

We were at WDW for the holiday weekend. In my opinion, it was empty. We did not have to wait long for anything. It was the most pleasant holiday weekend I've ever experienced at Disney.

Thanks again everyone for posting. It's so much nicer with no crowds. :cool1: :cool1:

We were also there for the holiday weekend and i thought the crowds were very minimal. We walked onto everything we wanted to do. Actually rode test track three times because there was No one there on Saturday morning. I think you should be fine for crowds when you are there.

Thanks for all these updates. We'll be there next weekend - can't wait !!!!!

Yesterday, we walked onto Pirates of the Caribbean, got off, and walked on again. We had two boats completely to ourselves. The longest wait anywhere was for Soarin. It was a 25 minute wait. Have an AWESOME time!
