Ok, I'm getting very nervous reading all the posts about the crowds. We leave on Thurs (10/16)--hoping that some of the holiday crowd, press event crowd, etc will have thinned out. Heard also that there was an entire Canadian town that closed up and headed to Disney for last week---anybody have info on that? I'm hoping that is true so that may mean crowds will be lower. I knew we would be looking at larger than normal Oct. crowds due to FTP, but not expecting to deal with summer time levels. Anybody there now, or have any feel as to whether the crowd situation will continue? Thanks.

I've been reading every post of folks returning in regard to the crowds. This is my 4th trip this year and I've experienced larger than normal crowds during my July and September trips, so am preparing myself for my Oct.23-Nov.1 trip to be ready for large crowds. We go every October and while it's never been summer crowds, it also has never been light either. So not sure how the crowds will be. We were there in September and the crowd level was noticeably higher than any other September I've ever gone to. Especially the e-ticket rides. Nothing we can do about it, just have your PS ready and I personnally avoid all EE parks now. We tried them in July and September, and never again. Before FTP we use to do EE parks and they were doeable, not any more. Worse is AK where the line for EE stretches to the table check area. ugh. and this was September!

jmommy, My boyfriend and I will be there the 15-23. I've been reading all the posts too about crowds, and let it stress me out.....but only for a few minutes hehe.

I have only been there once before in late May 2001, and I had no idea then what a "crowded" Disney was. I think it was pretty crowded on a few days, but I still had the best time ever, and I was just so happy to be there I didn't care. I think it was how I expected it to be.

I was thinking some of the large crowds were due to the press event and holiday as well.

We can only wait and see, and hope for the best :teeth:

From what I am reading on the boards it looks like there will continue to be crowds. It doesn't sound like they are as big as summer (never been there in the summer) but definately larger than the last couple of fall seasons.

October has been crowded for years and that is the reason why Value Season no longer begins in October. We go in October for the most part and have noticed more crowds each year but we are well aware that the crowds this year will be compared to the Summer crowds. Just don't stress over it, we are going to pick the most important attractions we want to do and then the rest will play itself out. There is FastPass and EE to take advantage of so we'll do that.

I must say that the only thing that kind of bums me out is that the park hours are not longer, but I am assuming that is due to MNSSHP.

Have fun!
