Does anywone know what to expect with crowd levels the week of 4/10? I know it's peak season so I'm scared it's going to be more mobbed than summer. Is it the same as summer?

Well I have never been there during the summer but I have been there during spring break a few times and it is very crowded - but managable. We plan - we make sure we are at the parks at opening and ride the big rides first then we take the afternoons off and go back to the park at night...it has worked well for us in the past - the crowds don't seem so bad when you break it up - if I had to deal with them ALL day I think it would get on my nerves....all the sites say that the crowd level will be HUGE for that time - but don't worry it can be done relativley stress free.....

We went last year the week before Easter and everything was pretty busy but not bad until Thursday--the day before Good Friday. Then it was PACKED! The mornings were great until about 11 and then there were people everywhere. We were at MK and saw a 120 minute wait for the Haunted Mansion--I never saw a line so long! So we totally avoided MK for the rest of our stay. The other parks weren't as crowded as MK but still very busy. I would suggest you get up and go early. That's our plan for this year. :thumbsup2

We've done Spring Break/Easter and Christmas before. If you go to the parks early it is very manageable! We leave by noon or one. Then if we feel like it we go back at night only to eat or shop, or do the less popular things. It has worked well for us. The ONLY bad part is if you want to go to MK EE begins at 7 AM :scared: so you have to get the young ones up by 5

We were there last year for the first week in April, and while the weekend days were busy, it was less crowded during the week. Although I've never been to WDW in the peak of summer, my DH has, and I would imagine that the week in April that you're going won't be as crazy as say, July ;)

I'll be there then and I plan to get up early and be there for opening to beat the crowds. I know it'll be busy and worry about having to get my two toddlers up at 5:30 ish to be at the park before 7am. I'm not really planning on getting there much before 7 - maybe 10 minutes or so. We'll then leave the park by say noon and go back to the hotel (grand floridian) and take naps and swim. Then we plan to go to a different park in the evening. We are only in Disney 3 days so we have to go to parks everyday to make the most of it. We are at the beach for 5 days prior to Disney so we'll have plenty of relaxing time them :thumbsup2

Do you think it will be warm enough to swim? What's the weather in Orlando that time of year?

I think it'll be warm enough - maybe not everyday but I'm expecting to be swimming all vacation - we'll be at Vero beach for 5 days and disney for 3 days. Average temp in April for Orlando is 72.7, Average max is 84 and average min is 61.

I haven't been for Easter/Spring Break week, but two families who went last year with grade school aged kids said that the evening EMH were the key. They said that it was really late for the kids to be up but that the evening EMH was when they were able to get on all the rides.
