Crowds/Weather first week of October?

We're arriving October 2-11 (taking advantage of FD with no days to spare) . Generally how are the crowds/weather during this time please?

We went that time last year, and had great weather. It was very warm during the day, but nights were cool - we even put on a jacket a couple of times. The crowds were manageable except for the weekend leading into Columbus Day. That weekend was so crowded, we could barely move. Lines were extremely long, with very long wait times. Other than that, we thought it was a great time to go. We are planning to go again at the same time, but leaving before Columbus Day weekend.

I went around that time in 2013. Weather was very warm both day and night, only needed a sweatshirt one of those nights. Crowds were manageable as well!

We went last year in late August/first week of September and couldn't bear the humidity and heat - is it that bad still in October?

I think the weather is great in Oct, low crowds. Great time to go.

The weather is nice in October, You can get the best of two weather really. It can get warm(er) in the day time but it cools down nicely in the evening. As others have mentioned crowds can be up or down depending on when in October you visit. Closer to holidays (Columbus Day is Oct. 12 this year which is a Monday), bigger the crowds. Pretty standard there.

You can also run into marathon weekends as well that raise the crowd levels, although I don't think they have any in October. I know the Wine & Dine Marathon is in November. As of now, I see no cheerleader/dance contests scheduled in October either.
