Can anyone tell me how crowded the parks were this week? WE are planning on going next year this time and would like to get an idea of what to expect. Thanks!
We go every year in early May and always find the crowds very manageable. This past week was no different (just got home yesterday). It's not completely empty, but peak waits for big attractions in mid afternoon during the week were about 40-60 minutes tops. Weekends were more crowded, but the same general rules apply as any other time - get there at open and take advantage of Fast Pass and you'll do great!
I didn't find the crowds too bad. Sure, there were lots of people. I'm pretty sure the days of having the park to yourself are gone. But, like the previous poster said the crowds were very manageable! I'd go at park opening, as the crowds got worse as the day went on. I did notice yesterday the monorail was much more crowded than the rest of the week. I would definetely go the first week of May again--crowds and weather were very nice!!

Hi there! We live in Mocksville, 1 hour from Charlotte. We're in Davie County about 25 minutes from Winston-Salem.
We LOVE going in May. The crowds are moderate and very manageable. The weather is nice and warm but not as humid as mid-late summer. Plus, you get the Flower & Garden Festival which is an added treat for the eyes, and nose.
We were able to ride everything we wanted to ride with minimal waits due to fast passes and arriving at the parks early. Also, during MGM's late night, we were able to sneak in two back-to-back thrill sessions on the Tower of Terror (our favorite ride). Granted, there were crowds and most shows were filled to capacity, but as long as you plan ahead you'll have a great time!
The temperature varies - last week we had three beautiful days in the upper 70s, low 80s, and then it roasted us the last half of the trip in the low 90s. Normally when we go it's in the mid 80s but the humidity isn't bad at all.
We are debating between going the second week of May 2007, May 6th, or the third week, May 13th. Does anyone know of a reason why one week might be better than the other?

Thanks everyone for your input. We were spoiled on our last trip. We went in between the two hurricanes of 2004. The parks were basically empty. We walked right on Dumbo a few times and that's a ride that there is always a line for. As someone else said, the days of having the park to yourself are gone for now.
We were there May 2005 with absolutely NO waits. We walked onto every single ride at WDW.
This year, we went on EMH days and it was more crowded. The crowds were manageable and waits weren't too long except on Sunday at MK (late EMH day). It was crazy as people were trying to leave the park others were coming in. There was a "traffic" jam on Main Street U.S.A. and the hub was claustrophobic for me. People were pushing to get past. We definately learned our lesson...don't go to MK on a weekend with evening EMH!
We just got back this morning and although I found that there were more people in the parks than on my previous visits we really had no wait for anything by as a previous poster said arriving early, using fastpass (windows were generally opening up about 40 minutes after we got them.) We did most of our park time in the morning and left as bigger crowds were arriving. We avoided the parks with EMH. We also visited Universal and Seaworld and there were no waits there either.
