Crowds the weekend BEFORE Easter?

My family will be out in Disneyland the weekend before Easter. We currently have a VIP reservation for Saturday, but wait times lately don't seem that bad if we buy Genie+ and ILL. I would have expected it to be really crowded, as it is an expensive time with DVC and VIP is charging peak rates. How important do you think it is to keep the VIP reservation, or do you think it would be manageable with just Genie+ and ILL? This will be our only day together and we would like to do a lot of the popular rides in both parks, but we will be able to go back into the parks separately on other days to pick up lower priority rides (my mom and son are doing an Escape and I will be working in the mornings). This may be the last time we are in Disneyland for quite a while. Thank you!

It will likely be pretty busy. That weekend overlaps when a lot of our local schools have spring break.

This is always a busy weekend. This is the start of my Spring Break, and I have gone many times on this weekend.
