I'm looking at planning a final trip before our AP's expire on May 10th. I was thinking something like May 4-10, but I just saw that there is the TinkerBell half-marathon on the 7-10. I'm gathering that will greatly increase the crowds? Any idea on when the crowds start arriving?

I'm wondering if the week prior would be better, like April 26-May 2. Easter is April 12th this coming year, so should all spring breaks be over by then?

Any input would be very helpful! Thanks!

Checking myself for next year.. and as far as Im aware Easter is 5th April. 2015..
traditionally the week before ,during and after Easter are crazy.. so you should try to avoid those weeks if you can...
I would say that by the 26th April the crowds would have settled down.. :)

You are right, it is April 5th. I looked it up last night, and I wrote down April 12th. Strange! Thanks for the input!

I figured it out . . . I had looked it up online on a printable calendar, and it said "Orthodox Easter." Apparently I had just focused on "Easter" and hadn't paid attention to the rest of it, or noticed that Easter was actually the week before!:)

We're planning our trip for the April 30-May 2nd. (I think those are the right dates... whatever that Thurs-Sun are!) I picked these because I didn't see anything "major" happening--no runs, no special promotions, etc. Of course, they could still end up starting something for their 60th anniversary (all they have said is "Spring 2015"). I figured most of the Spring Break and Easter crowds should be well-done by then, but maybe I would be avoiding Grad Nights....

All this is really to say, I went that same week a few years ago, and enjoyed it, the crowds didn't seem bad, and so it seemed like a fine time to go again!

Thanks! We went May 5-10 this year and thought (except for all the crazy refurbs) that it was a nice time. I would go those dates again except for the doggone marathon! ;) We avoided Grad Nights by going in early May. I'd love to be there for the start of the 60th, though! Wish they would announce a start date!:)

Those are the same date we are planning to go next year too! How is the weather this time of year? We went 3/30 to 4/3 last year and crowds were good but it was a little too cold (no pool etc).

When I went two years ago, it was nice and warm in the low 80s, I think, and cooler evenings. My general DL outfit is capris and tshirts with a sweatshirt in the evening most of the time, unless it's a cold Feb trip, in which case I pack a regular coat.

We are planning to go May 1st with 4 day passes. We went over May 10th a few years ago and found the crowd levels to be "ok". The week days were great...ghost town. Sunday the 10th (Mother's Day) got pretty crowded by noon. I am hoping it will be pretty light crowd-wise the first week in May!
