Crowds next week...

What's with the "free meal plans?" We booked our WDW vacation back in March and didn't get any info regarding this? Is it new and can we still get in on it?

I agree, stay dead!!!! I'm going Saturday for a week :) Three days at Disney, though, taking family that's never been! Hope the lines are good!

It seems like most of the schools are closed next week starting mid-week on ... so you proably will be ok until Wed or so.
Don't say this!!!! I'm not getting to Disney until Wed!!! lol

We went last year at this time, not too crowded. We really didn't have any waits for anything except on Saturday when we went to MK, which we expected.

My 2 cents....
Just came back from 10 days in DW.
This is what I observed:
- Parks empty from Mon-Fri (Longest waits in top rides were 20 min in standby line).
- Sat and Sun the waits were a bit longer (30 to 40 min)
- TS restaurants were allways full. We tried the following:
Cal Grill
Chef Mickeys
Whispering Canyon
Boma
Ohana
Grand Floridian Cafe
Teppanyaki
Mexican Restaurant at Epcot (can't remember name)
The avarage wait for a table was 15 to 20 minutes even though we arived on time or earlier then our PS.

Also just got back from 6day/5nights. I thought MGM (there on Saturday, 24th) was empty and very manageable, although we didn't do the BIG rides as this trip was all about our 2.5 year old DD. However, MK was very busy on Monday...maybe because it was the spectromagic parade day. Unless you had Fast Pass or didn't want to see characters (her favorite thing), you HAD to wait in line. We missed the princesses because of the horrid long line. DH does not tolerate lines. And the heat was a little much! I cannot even fathom DW in the summer!

Same with the dining as PP said. A couple of times we waited 15-20 minutes even though we showed up on time.

And Soarin' is all that they say and more!

I am getting tense about the crowds 10/6-10/10 but what can you do! Have a great trip all and think positive!! :goodvibes

Well hopefully IF the parks are really crowded, it will be crowded with all of us DIS'ers. We'll be considerate, friendly guests who are happy and excited to be there! It will be great! :cool1: :cheer2:  :Pinkbounc

Personally I couldn't give a monkeys if it's busy or not - anything beats being at work in the UK and we cannot WAIT to come out to Orlando, even if it means standing in a queue for 30 mins during a giant thunderstorm! :cool1:

We're from UK and totally agree! When are you travelling? 16th October here for 3 weeks. Haven't been for three long years so looking forward to it v v much!

We fly out on Saturday for 2 weeks - staying at AKL. Can't believe you're going for 3!! That's fantastic

OK, I've gone back and forth with this issue, being a bit disappointed that the crowds may be heavy, then optimistic and thinking who cares-we'll be in WDW! We're leaving Monday for a week. Here's my take: dh, dd, and myself visited the world this time 4 years ago when F&W was going on as well as MNSSHP. We didn't even realize these events were taking place!! We had the parks to ourselves. So, the other factor is free dining. Only a certain number of rooms at each resort were reserved for the free dining plan. Most schools across the country are in session, unlike the summer! There's NO WAY the crowds will be as busy as they are then. Sure, the crowds probably will be heavier than typical Octobers, but probably manageable. Close your eyes, click your heels three times and repeat, "There's no place like Disney, there's no place like Disney, there's no place like Disney!" Have a great time! I can't wait!

How about an update? We were at the F&W festival Saturday 10/1 and it was packed all day. I'm curious how mid-week will be. We tried to eat at Canada and the woman said the restaurant was booked for 10 days solid for dinner.

Those who do go next week please post how the crowds are. We may go that week next year, our school systen takes fall break the second week of October.

Crowds were great UNTIL Sat,Sun a little busier (still hardly a wait...) then TODAY Monday, it was like someone let out the flood gates compared to the rest of our week!!! We hardly waited more than 20 mins for ANYTHING BUT the TS restaurants ARE A ZOO and expect to wait 30 mins past your ps and do not expect to change them, it is that bad!!! More in my trip report later...

LOVE THE POLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WILL BE BACK....SOON

Ok, I am surprising my DD10 with a quick trip this weekend. When I called to get a room everything was sold out but a few rooms at GF. I called several times to reconfirm and yes, everything everywhere is booked solid. I'm still excited it's out first MNSSHP. We're going to be matching Mousekeeters and she doesn't even know it! :) Golly Geee, its hard to keep this one a secret!

Sorry Oct people. It will be busy. I left yesterday and the Hotel lady at POP sayed it was filled not a single room avaialable. Saturday we were at Epcot and it was packed and lines at 60 minutes. It could be because of the first weekend of the food and wine but it was busy. The week before was normal with 10 minute lines.
