Crowds moving from Fantasmic to Symphony in the Stars?

What if you don't want to stay for the fireworks? What is the best way to "get out?"
If the left side exit is open take that route, it will probably take you to the front of the park by the stroller rentals.
It really depends how they are unloading the theater.
There's basically 4 ways to unload Fantasmic!
1) everyone comes out the same way they came in, the long walk way between Beauty and the Beast and ToT
2) They open both left and right. Right side empties the same way you came in, left side empties to the side street by Beauty and the Beast and Sunset Blvd
3) They open both sides, right empties the same way you came in, left side empties at the front of the park by the stroller parking
4) When there are 2 shows, the first F! will exit: right side will take you to the far end of ToT, left side probably front of the park
No way of knowing which they will use

Just to echo what others said. We did it in February and had similar experiences. We've seen F! several times, so we didn't have to stay to the very end. We sat towards the far end, closest to the exit. As the finale was happening, we worked our way to the top of the steps and watched it from there. As soon as it ended, we bolted for the exit. We were among the first to leave. We tried to go out the way we came in, but were redirected to the long back exit. It dumps you out by the park exit. There was already a crowd forming from people who didn't see F!, but we still found a spot without a ton of trouble. The people who waited in F! until the end and got stuck in the herd were SOL trying to find a spot to stop and watch Star Wars.

we neeed a map lol
here's one from WDW Prep School (full article here http://wdwprepschool.com/tips-and-tricks-for-fantasmic/ )

Sit near the top or leave about two minutes before the end of Fantasmic. We leave about 2 min prior and watch the finale as we're walking up top and on the way out. We see the whole show and are always among the first out. We haven't had to deal with a crowd leaving Fantasmic for a long time

Where is the way out? Is it better to sit near the top on the right or left side as you face the stage? Do you go out the way you came in?

We usually sit in the front center and normally exit down the path on the far right (looking at Fantasmic) that empties at the front of the park

We did it early May. We sat at the very top, but we were all the way at the far end. It is wall to wall people getting out of there. Just keep moving! Once we broke free from the seating area, it was a good pace. We headed right to the theatre and got a nice spot.

Never seen Fantasmic but, what would be your key to get up and bolt to exit ? We may try your strategy

Is standing in the plaza in front of the Chinese theater a strong preference or would you consider it mandatory? Just trying to compare this to a show at the MK. Thanks!
