What's the average crowds like mid oct, for Disney, universal, seaworld. I'm hoping to go to legoland which I presume will be busy as it opens when we are there
We did last 2 weeks of October last year and are back this year same time.
Only did disney last time so can't comment re universal/seaworld. Hope they are low as we are going this time.
Crowds are low. Avoid epcot at weekend evenings - busy due to food and wine festival. The nights showing the evening parade and wishes were busy in MK as it is only on a few times a week due to MNSSHP.
I found touringplans.com to be accurate - gives a prediction per disney park per day. You pay a few dollars to subscribe.
School hols tend to be the last week but some like my DD get two weeks. A lot take kids out either side. We flew Virgin and the plane was packed both ways - no spare seats.
In the parks Brits were a noticably bigger proportion of visitors I had several conversations whilst waiting for things explaining why there were so many of us (US schools don't have the same break)
My family & I almost always go in October! The crowds are low, but they can pick up a little bit during half term week but it's nothing too noticeable. But i would suggest getting Disney Fastpass's for the main attractions in each park as the waits can still be upto an hour still. I would advise not going to Epcot during the weekend as the crowds are ALOT bigger due to Food & Wine. & yes like another poster said - MK can get busy during evening parade/fireworks because they're only shown a few times a week so make sure you get there early to get a good viewing spot.
Universal Orlando & Seaworld should have pretty low crowds too - but can pick up a great deal during UK School holidays these days, probably due to the Harry Potter expansion.
I think Oct half term this year is the 24th - 28th for most Schools. Next year (2012) it's the 22nd - 26th Oct.
October also has perfect weather so it's definitely the best time to go in my opinion.
