Crowds light over President's week? Is this TRUE???

Just spoke to a friend who was at Disney over President's week. She claimed that there weren't any lines and that there weren't any crowds. Is she telling the truth? After putting up with insane crowds last year over March break, I vowed never to return to WDW again, but as it happens, our school vacation is now over President's week next year, and if there really weren't big crowds, I will consider returning to WDW.

So, what's the real scoop, crowded or not over President's week?

I was there President's Week and though it was crowded over the weekend, the crowds were minimal starting Tuesday 2/18. The longest waits we saw were about 30 minutes for the big attractions at mid-day. Part of this may be due to the possiblity of war and that the terror threat was raised to orange right before President's weekend (it was the day before we left that they raised it, made me feel great about our trip!). Some say the crowds were lighter also because of the blizzard in the northeast so many people had flights cancelled. I don't agree with that, however, because just as many people had flights cancelled leaving Florida and had to stay extra days (yes, I was one of them, due to leave WDW 2/17 and didn't get a flight out until 6pm on 2/20). So I think the people snowed in Florida equaled those snowed out.

Nice to see you're alive. I was there the week after and this was as light as I have seen the crowds.

I believe it, most of the northeast was snowed in and alot of us had to cancel our trip. When we called to cancel our room I was told alot of people were cancelling.
We all wanted to be there, the weather just wouldn't let us :(

We went the week before and we left the saturday before Presidents Day, friday it started getting really crowded but the few days before the parks were half empty or more, Epcot was dead.

We were there the tail end of Presidents' week, arriving on Sat. the 22nd. We went to MK on Sunday, it was an early entry day, and it wasn't bad early, but then got somewhat crowded later in the day, but not too bad. We went to Universal on Mon., then back to MK on Tues. and it wasn't crowded, but Presidents' week was over then.

I was there I was there!!! MK was busy over the long weekend, with waits up to 65 minutes for certain rides (Splash, Pooh..) but it was entirely manageable with FP and just good park strategies (avoided early entry days b/c we were not resort guests.)

Also there over Presidents Week. 2/12-2/21.

All rides were walk on up to weekend. With fastpast every park was manageable. Am aready planning a return trip for next year.

We have always gone in April or May. The parks have always been crowded. February is now my new month to visit Disney.

We were there 2/11-2/16 and during the week, most everything was a walk-on, and the parks were generally dead.. the weekend it was pretty crowded, but still manageable.

I was also there 2/12 to 2/18 and I have to say that it wasn't crowded until the weekend. I did leave early and was lucky that I was able to fly home. I will also say that I had a LOT of friends who had planned to fly down 2/16 or 2/17 and they weren't able to, due to the blizzard. A lot of schools in the NE had that week off from school, and due to the blizzard weren't able to get flights out until Thurs or Friday, and most of my friends decided to cancel, since they could. I'm sure that had a lot to play in the attendence that week. I know some people who were stranded, but I'm sure the numbers of the Orlando stranded were much lower than the NE stranded.

We went on a cruise with my mom, sister and our kids over Presidents week, but we left 3 days BEFORE the blizzard! It makes sense that there were some unusual circumstances which lightened the crowds, probably won't happen again.

At any rate, I got ahold of next years school calender and we have a long weekend end of March. If we go back to WDW we'll do it then, sounds like it might not be busy then!
