Anybody have experience at WDW during Labor Day Weekend? We plan to be there Tues. 8/29 - Sun. 9/3.

I am trying to sketch out a loose itinerary and I am not sure how crazy the crowds will be.

Plan A - head to the water parks first then do the theme parks in the late afternoon into evening

Plan B - head to a theme park in the morning while I can still get fast passes and then head to a water park around 11am. Return to the theme parks in the evening.

* or *

Plan C - you tell me! :confused3

Thanks!

I had also asked the same question and i was told that SAT SUN and MON would be busy....

For the past two years, I have gone to MK on Sunday and Monday of Labor Day week. The crowds are low, surprisingly, and we never use fastpass the whole week that we are there!

As far as we are concerned it is the absolute BEST time to go!

At touringplans.com I was also surprised to see that Labor Day weekend was not shown as a high crowd time. Has that been anyone else's experience?

We like to fly in on labor day and enjoy the week right after the holiday weekend. It is dead. I know that doesn't quite answer your question but I've read elsewhere that labor day weekend is pretty slow.

oooh, that's encouraging news! I hear so many conflicting stories. I'll be there Aug. 29th thru Sept. 5th,

We were there 3 years ago during Labor Day Weekend and MK was packed in the evening. We were only to ride Dumbo in Fantasyland.

However, we are going again from 8-28 to 9-3. KCREW and FOV where are you staying. We are going to be at AKL. Have a great trip! :)

matt&jakesmom- what day was it so packed, Sun or Mon?

tn disney addict- what parks would you suggest for Sun night and Mon? I'd always heard MK for Mon, but it is a holiday.

It had to have been Saturday or Sunday because Monday we were leaving. In fact housekeeping told us that 1,000 rooms were vacated that day. We stayed at the All Star Music.

That's good to hear. We will be there 9/1 - 9/10. We plan to do the following on Labour Day weekend:

Sat - Epcot and MK
Sun - AK and MK EMH
Mon - BB and Epcot

Does this sound a good plan?

We went last year during labor day and practically walked onto everything! Our longest wait time was for the Safari at AK and we waited 20 mins!

I am so relieved to hear that it might not be that crowded. I will be prepared for the crowds but hope for the best.

Saturday and sunday are a bit more crowded than monday as folks have to head home as schools are open tuesday in most of the country. Monday is a pretty easy day to get around, small lines but not bad on the big attractions. Tuesday of Labor Day week will be deserted, so many leave you will have the place to yourself almost... :sunny:

dbf and I will be there for labor day weekend MK will be busy at night on Sat because of the extra magic hours.

We are having our honeymoon at AKL and will be there 8/31-9/4

I was at Disney last year for the last week of August into Labor Day Weekend. (but not Labor Day itself)

The crowds during the week were minimal, but on Friday night it was like somebody dumped a ton of people into our Hotel (ASSp). All of sudden there were lines at everything that their wasn't lines on during the week. Granted they weren't long lines like you'd see at Christmas, but it's definitely more crowded than usual for the end of summer.

We arrive the Sunday before Labor Day and the crowds are minimal the entire week except for Friday night when Night of Joy begins. We usually check out on the following Saturday to avoid the larger crowds.

i just wanted to add that i will be there around this time, too, and really want to do either an Illuminations or Wishes cruise, if anyone wants to join in.

Well it looks like I will have a lot of company from the DIS Boards! We are staying at the POR.

I think I may take advantage of the EMH late hours at AK on Wednesday night 8/30 because it sounds like the crowds won't be that bad. I will avoid the EMH parks on Friday, Saturday and Sunday though.

What are your plans for EMH? Will you avoid those parks or take advantage of the longer hours?

My son and I will be there August 31-September 4. :cheer2:

Tom Joyner from the Tom Joyner Morning Show, will be holding a huge family reunion at WDW that weekend. :thumbsup2

I hope we'll be able to get tickets to a few of the concerts. :wizard:

I'm not sure how this will impact the crowd levels. :confused3
