In an attempt to take advantage of the free dining, we were thinking about changing our trip from early December to late September. How are the crowds in late September? I have been in December before and know what to expect. Thanks for your help! :rotfl:

September is a great time for low crowds. A few years ago we went in September and rarely had to wait in line for anything. MGM honestly looked like a ghost town. The only bad thing is the humidity!

We went this past September 12-19 and other than the Saturday, the whole place was like a ghost town. We did not wait for a single attraction, just walked right on. It was hotter than snot, however, like 93-98 every day, but we are from steamy Chicago, so it was just like being at home. Except way, way better!!!

Works for me. Hot and muggy, but worth it for not having to fight the crowds

From what I can tell, alot of DiSsers are going to be there because of the free dining advantage..... (Me included). From what I have read, it appears to be one of the "less" busy times of the year.

DH and I were there Last Dec 4 to the 9th and a lot of people on the boards were saying it was not too crowded- i personally thought it was. i like reading the posts above stating the place was a ghost town! LOVE IT!

i did some research before we planned our next trip and it looks like everyone is saying Sept is a great time to go (besides the daily rain showers, and maybe a hurricane-- but HEY! no crowds!) just remember all the guests run for the hills when the rain starts-- but stick around and you will have the whole park to yourself! the rain does not last long! :cool1:

boy if it is a ghost town to start with-- what does it look like when the rain starts and everyone leaves?? :confused3

We went last Sept 10-20 during free dinning and it was GREAT! no crowds and walked on all the rides.... rarely needed to use any fast passes. We hit up Sea world and Universal/IOA too and there were no crowds there either.

we also didnt make ANY dinning reservations beforehand (i didnt know any better) but had next to no problems either walking-up to restaurants or phoning the same-day for reservations. (with the exception of Le cellier)... we even were able to walk-up to cinderella's royal table for supper without a reservation and got seated right away. (but that was lucky)

Hey KS... the crowds in Sept are low to moderate... With Free Dining you really shouldnt pass up the deal to bump your trip up a couple of months...It is so worth it!! If you do though, think of the restaurants that you want to go to and try and book your ADR's asap! :) Hope you have a wonderful trip no matter what time you go!:) :goodvibes

we always go in september and are returning 9/19-9/26 for free dining once again. I am from the north and not used to such heat but for low crowds and free dining we can manage.

We're taking advantage of free dining 9/27-10/2. It's saving us a bit of money for two reasons DDP and dtr. b-day. My only concern is my mom has asthma and I'm worried about how she'll do with the humidity. If it gets to be to much we may get her a motorized w/c ( i think you can get that right at the park). I figure she can take her time and since she doesn't do all the rides if she walks slower she'll just meet us places. She loves to look around and shop...so I THINK she'll be okay. I guess I need to look into the W/C thing so I know what to expect should we need it.

We are all looking forward to some fun!
