Crowds in October?

Hi! We will be there from the 14th to the 29th, staying off-site with friends...Hope to see some Lime Green Mickeys...I hope it won't be too busy.
:wave2:

We are going to DL in October,,,,do you think Friday 10/6 would be less crowded then going Sunday 10/8? I would guess Friday due to kids in school and going Friday you get an extra hour...but I notice Fanstamic won't be showing...not a problem for us so may even less people on Friday. thanks for any advice.......

October 13 - 22 staying at CSR - will have a lime green Mickey in our window & on my backback. MNSSHP the 17th.

Looks like a couple of us will be there the same time!
Oct 17-23rd here. Those of you who went this time last year, any suggestions? How were crowds? We went first week last year, the crowds were minimal and very manageable.

We have gone in October every year since 1995 and the crowds have increased each year except in 2001. After 9/11 the crowds dropped, but have been increasing again. October crowds is comparable to early May crowds (we go then too every year). The crowds will be manageable, weekends at EPCOT will be ugly. F&W is very popular on the weekends for the locals and CMs, as you will see short lines during the week at the booths and long, long lines on Friday through Sunday. The only weekend that is very busy in October is Colombus day weekend. If you can avoid the parks then, you should be OK. We avoid that weekend like the plaque. MNSSHP almost ALWAYS sells out the Friday of Columbus Day weekend. We arrive afterwards and will be there Oct. 14-27. Columbus Day weekend in October is the busiest, with the Halloween weekend following closely behind. Of course, all of this can change with the arrival of a hurricane too, as last years' crowds were unpredictable as folks were having to change plans when the storms rolled in. Good luck and if you're going during Columbus Day weekend, buy those MNSSHP tickets now.

Going Oct 19-23 staying at the AKL (family doesn't know I switched from POR) doing MNSSHP on the 19th (at first for us).

We'll be there from the 21-29 during our Fall Break. I'm hoping that is a little late for other school's break. We'll be hitting MNSSHP on 10/23. We're really getting excited now.

We will be there Oct 6-12. We are going to Seaworld, Busch Gardens and MNSSHP (Oct. 10) only, since we go to Disney parks in March for cheerleading. We are staying at the Nick Hotel. I can't wait!!! :woohoo:

We went the first week of October last year, and we're going back Oct 4th -10th this year. The crowds were great last Oct. We never waited more than 10-20 minutes for anything. Things did pick up on the Sat. of Columbus Day weekend, but very manageable compared to Spring Break or Summer! The weather is much nicer too, but I'd invest in a poncho.

We will be at CBR 20th Oct for two weeks :cool1: . Booked MNSSHP, Discovery Cove & Seaworld. The UK school holidays are 20th October so there will be quite a few of us Brits over during the last couple of weeks! :thumbsup2 Can someone enlighten me about the lime green mickeys?? :confused3

We will be there 9/30 - 10/7. This is the last week for free dining. Anyone experience this time frame last year? It's also the 1st week of F&W festival and there are 3 MNSSHP that week.
How about weather? I know now to plan for rain. What about heat?
Thanks!

There is a lime green colour kind of "adopted" by Disers, from Home Depot ( a paint and DIY store I guess) I THINK the colour is called Alien green????

I have printed out on the PC some mickey mouse shaped ears and typed on our DIS and DIB names, laminated them and im going to hang them on our buggy, bag, and on our door on the cruise.

Hoping people will say Hi! :wave2: :Pinkbounc

Crowds were very manageable last year around this time (we went 1st-5th) .. it was pretty humid though (we're used to it, but fam from Mich said it was hot and humid for them :confused3) Definitely plan for rain, and dress cool (shorts etc) but pack the possible cool weather clothes too, you never know. :surfweb:

tinkerbell211, we will be there same exact time you are Sept 30-oct 7. We are staying at ASM with our 2 yr DDand 4yr DS. Our first time at wdw. I haven't heard of too many others picking this week, so i hope it is limited crowds. Little concerned by the one person with the reply of expect rain.
Does this mean all day rain?

No, usually just the usual showers which shouldn't effect you really .. just bring ponchos to be safe .. it was basically spotty afternoon showers, in which we either went in to eat somewhere or into an indoor show/ride for the time being. I'd say the longest one we saw was about 25-30 minutes, though I've seen some as long as an hour, but definitely no wash outs. Just best to be safe, pack mostly warm clothes (ie: shorts) and expect high 80s with spotty rain (ponchos) .. but bring some clothes incase its cool because you never know in October.
