Crowds in late aug/early sept

Hi all..

I'm planning on going on a short visit to Disneyland/Cali Adventures from August 31st to September 1st. I am going to take advantage of the cheap hotel rates and planning on staying at GCH. We stayed at DLH last year and it was just so so but I have seen the pictures of the newly renovated rooms and I really want to stay there, however, its only $426 plus tax for 2 days at the GCH and if we use our Disney Visa Debit, we will receive a $200 gc.

Anyways, my real question has to do with crowds during my chosen dates of August 31 and Sept 1st. It is towards the end of summer. I live in Vegas and all the kids start school about Aug 25th so I'm hoping the so cal kids go to school around that time, but I think most of them start after labor day. Is there anything else going on in california or anywhere else that could cause the parks to be extra crowded during my dates?any advice or knowledge of anything that could be going on?

My wife and I went just before Labor Day three years ago and the park was very manageable. We stayed a couple days after Labor day too and it became a ghost town. I actually preferred the days we were there before Labor Day as it felt more kinetic and exciting (plus all the big shows are still running). I'd say it's about average attendance. Not too much, not too little. If you get fast passes you shouldn't have to wait in too many lines.
