We're thinking about going to Disneyland the second week of January. I've read that the two weeks of Christmas and New Years are really packed. What about the second or third week of January? Also, how is the weather that time of year? I don't do well in the heat and prefer to go at the coolest time if the year.

Thanks for your help! :D

Just avoid Martin Luther King Holiday. Other than that, it is pretty quiet during the week. Saturdays at Disneyland are still pretty busy.

Weather is a hodgepodge. Usually Jan/Feb/March are the rainy months. This last January wasn't that wet though and the temps ok.

Thank you for responding so quickly! Since we don't want to get the MLK rush, we're thinking we may leave on Jan 10th and come back on Jan 17th. I don't mind rain too much...we live in NW Washington. Were so used to it we don't even bother with raincoats and umbrellas! lol! So I don't mind if it wants to rain on us while we're there. How does the rain effect the rides? Does it cause any, all, or some of them to close?

Thanks for your help. It is very much appreciated!

January is a great time to go, and usually the weather can be quite nice. Even if it rains, it's rarely for long, and it clears out the parks of crowds!

The only downside is that many attractions are down for maintenance during this time. It's a Small World and the Haunted Mansion will probably be closed while they "undo" the Christmas themes in them--just to name a couple.

You can check Disneyland.com in a month or so, and they may have the closures listed by then.

What's the park hours at this time of year (Jan.)?
