Crowds in January?

DH and I are planning a quick weekend trip to WDW in Jan 08. We're looking at the first weekend which would be 4, 5, 6....right after NYE or the following weekend which would be 11,12,13.
Does anyone know how crowded the parks have been in that time frame? I'm sure it's fairly slow in January, but I wasn't sure if that weekend had a lot of stay over crowd from New Years Eve.
We're pretty much settled at staying at the Poly so I'm also interested in opinions on that resort.

The weekend January 12 is the marathon weekend, so it will probably be more crowded than the weekend before. The monorail resorts seem to be popular with the runners because it's easy to get to and from the start...you might be better off going the weekend of January 5.

ahh, I COMPLETELY forgot about the marathon!!
I think I'm going to work on booking that first weekend in January..I want to avoid the marathon crowds i think!
